I think it’s a combination of 2 things.
They seem to think (or thought up until this point) that WoW players will eat up whatever crap they come up with and they are probably not the least bit self-critical.
Hopefully they start writing for a more intelligent audience and hire more intelligent and creative writers.
Yes, this is a definite problem. There’s an unmistakable smugness in the writing these days. Those subtle retcons and tweaks to the “old” lore (such as Garrosh insulting Sylvanas) are actually signs that the “new” writers think they can tell a better story than the ones who actually wrote compelling stuff.
Same with this whole roughshod attempt to tie the Jailer in with Arthas, Frostmourne, and the Helm of Domination. They think they can make the story better by adding to it, but every single addition has decreased the value of the lore significantly.
How is her accepting responsibility and literally saying she must face the consequences a redemption?
The “writers” thinking they are smarter than they are?
Honestly my biggest issue with the writing aside from all of it is that we have no character development. Characters will randomly change their entire personality just so they can do what the writers want them to do.
wouldn’t the best solution be to separate her again? Surely in wow it’s possible to take the “good side” out and have her be her own individual.
Actually ,if a person is separated they are not whole and if one should no loner exist that person ,if dead, would go into a state of no return (lost)because both are needed to make memory to work. For the longest time they were separated with both souls sharing memories (Some what) but not realizing they were not consciously in acknowledging it,that is why spirit is so important .
This is why zovaal never said anything about spirit.the one element he has no control of.
People want blood.
