What're Demon Hunters Up To These Days?

You… I like you.

You see the twisted beauty in the lore… the walking damned.

Now that I’m finally able to reply to this topic, I would like to second this viewpoint. There are always going to be demons, and always going to be the potential threat of more Burning Legion minions coming around.

But that being said, I feel that Demon Hunters may interpret Illidan’s will differently. NPCs are very clear when they say “Azeroth must not fall,” but think about this statements what exactly constitutes Azeroth’s fall? Is it the world itself? The people? The world and the people, dare we dream?

My Demon Hunter would argue that it’s a bit of both- naturally the world cannot exist without its people to continue to protect it, but you also have the whole Fourth War situation which, from his perspective, is a massive waste of time and resources. He doesn’t feel bad for his Kaldorei counterparts, but he likewise doesn’t feel any hostility towards them. The Illidari cast aside their racial boundaries in favor of a ‘higher’ calling.

Ultimately it depends on how you wish to play your character. I don’t think, realistically, an Illidari could or would be able to turn around and leave their order behind after having so thoroughly scarred themselves emotionally and physically, but that’s just me.

Kourdes here has adapted. He now takes up the job of a basic darkness/shadow hunter, fighting and hunting the errant and dangerous supernatural, but always keeping an eye out for demons and cultists. He is currently bunking in Aaron’s Stand, helping with the battle against the witches.

I like seeing these different view points. It occasionally makes me go back and reevaluate some of my character’s stances. My own Demon Hunter in particular, in this case.

Much like Kourdes i help hunt down the super natural. I also bring in high bounties. Im in druskvar my self hunting down witches. And will always keep an ear and both eyes out for and demonic or legoin influences that may be floating around.

I imagine that they go around hunting down demons and, in general, any legion infestation left in Azeroth (Like Night Elf DH going on a hunt in fellwood), eleminate any demon left in the Broken Shore and IMHO mainly keep on the incursion into different demon worlds to make sure the legion will never get the chance to reorganize itself under a new leadership.

Heck, to be fair, DH are one of those classes that will always have use for their Order Hall, as they will be forever on the hunt, be it in this world or another

Night Elves are not about flag waving patriotism, especially Demon Hunters. They care about their people, their families, or they are on a crusading trail of vengeful rage if the people they saved from the Legion were just killed by the Horde.

Think of me as more of a Hordehunter these days.

The rest of my post noted how they were all hunted as monsters by the Wardens and were imprisoned - presumably indefinitely- until they needed them during the Legion invasion.

Feels like they could unironically give a “You’ve the audacity to come to me for help?” monologue.

It’s a valid reaction. It’s not the ONLY valid reaction… If a demon hunter had his family burn on Teldrassil, she’ll probably be joining up on her own accord. Or she may be on a solo Horde Hunting rampage.

“I’m not here for you. I’m here for them.”

This is the sum of Vesthi’s motivation. Why she’s now hunting horde. She could care little for the Alliance and their politics, or the ranks they’ve bestowed upon her for her work with the 7th Legion. They’re just a vehicle for her vengeance for Teldrassil, though she isn’t ignorant to the subtle shifting in the background. She know’s her time for vengeance is nearing it’s end. She awaits the revelations of what’s looming in the shadows.

Something to think of…

What if… the legion is still functioning. Demons are reborn in places with high concentration of fel energies. Antrous was just the biggest place… but they didnt say the only one.

However… if i did miss something let me know ^.^

To be fair, the dislike for the Warden does not neccesarilly mean that they will dislike their whole society, look at it as the people who dislike the Police and don’t trust them even though they love their country
