Only issue I had with the LFR experience was waiting for it to queue up actually.
Other than that it was pretty much just know what mechanics do and patience. People will get better and better at an encounter as time goes on. The reason lfr groups fail isn’t so much because the scenario is too hard but because it’s 20+ random people all doing random things.
It’s the sort of spread you’d see with an AI I’d imagine. There will be many deaths till eventually the bad pieces become noticed are expunged or leave and are replaced with more competent players.
The biggest problem I’ve encountered with LFR is “stealth AFKs”, which are players that pop in just often enough to look active (responding to ready checks, etc) and end up killing everybody by failing mechanics. They eventually get kicked when someone looks at their DPS meters, but it sometimes takes several wipes before that happens.

Along with the odd troll who thinks its funny to ruin everyone’s life. Or enters just to mock people. I remember one where a Disc Priest who was Heroic Geared, came in just to mock everyone. Of course he was doing mad DPS, he was heroic geared while everyone else was LFR geared.
His numbers were good, but outside of that, he wasn’t considering mechanics and when he left, the fights actually were easier to handle.

You can organize in the open world no different than instances. It’s the same thing. The only difference between instances vs non instances is the former allows you to create exclusivity by filtering who gets to share an instance with you which IMO is the entire problem with modern MMORPG design.
Zerging a boss is fine. That’s in the spirit of MMORPG design. If the bosses are designed with zerging in mind, say if they have adds or additional mechanics that kick in past a certain threshold then it’s fine.
Failing is also fine. These are all concepts that need to be introduced back to the world so people can better organize and communicate deficiencies.
Locking the best parts of the game behind instances has created an almost impassable chasm between players of what should be the same community and frankly has made a lot of instanced content abhorrent to run.
Yeah there was one of those people in my group as well. They just need to be kicked. Who cares what they think lol.
I use it to learn general tank mechanics so yes it is working
Well the tech might be there to make that happen but I am not so sure it would work out well. New ideas are definitely a start to something perhaps interesting though.
Ugh, I had a clown like that in a low freehold key (+6 maybe? I forget) a while back. Invited him because he was high ilvl, well beyond what was needed for the difficulty, but after we got the run rolling he kept mocking the rest of the group in chat, telling us about how much he was carrying us and how crap we were. We just rolled with it and finished the run, but after he left everybody was like, “well that was weird” in chat.
Oddly I’m reminded of a dungeon run … not a bad player, just a “that was weird”
Clean run, no problems. We’re about to do the last boss. Then one player was “my hot pockets are ready, gotta go!” and left.
We were “did we do something to piss him off? We would have waited for him to grab the hot pockets. Not like you can eat them the second they’re out of the oven or anything.”
We shrugged and moved on, finishing the last boss.
It left us with a serious “wha?” of course.
LfR Carapace and N’zoth mechanics are simple
1: Don’t stand in stupid ( If you see a tentacle shadow or ground corruption don’t stand in it )
2: Adds over Boss if you are DPS especially Range DPS)
3: Sanity gets low use Cloak button for Carapace and Neck button for N’zoth ( both appear on the middle of the screen to click with cursor or can be key bound)
I have no problems with these mechanics and I’m a LFR Hero.

It’s not entitlement it’s literally normal is easier than LFR.
You and I and many others may be just fine learning mechanics but the simple fact is some people are really really bad at the game and that’s okay, that’s why LFR and Heroic dungeons are their end game. There’s a place for casuals and that’s what LFR is. For people who want the story and experience the raid but aren’t good.
I don’t know what’s so hard for you to understand, I guess just too elitist lmao
Raids are just boring. Get rid of them period.

Tell that to the other half of the raid that isnt doing mechanics.
