My Fair Lady

I discovered bard performing in FF14. I’ve been an amateur musician most of my life, bedroom guitarist, etc


My paltry knowledge has found an outlet in that game. With the bard class, you can “perform” songs. Any song that you can get into a MIDI format.

The trick is, you only have one “voice” or instrument performing alone, and the game only gives you three octaves to work with from C3 to C6. I think those are middle and high C? (Like I said, amateur
)

So I’ve been chopping up songs to make them recognizable as a single instrument. I endeavor to include a melody line for the vocals and then whatever else to make the song recognizable. [Bass line. Mid-range chords. High for vocal.]

I actually got paid to transcribe a Beatles song. That guy really wanted to be able to perform Blackbird
 was worth 2 million of the game currency for him to have it.

I wanna be the first bard to put on a one-man performance of the entire musical. Four songs transcribed and sounding right in-game!

I can’t help it.

In my defense I have also transcribed a good bit of Blizzard of Ozz. Flying High Again always makes people stop and listen
 “WTF am I hearing?! WOW!”
