What would have excited you in War Within if you're not?

Here’s my wishlist in no particular order:
Worgen tails and upright posture.
More classes for Evoker.
Player housing. (And profession(s) to make furniture, etc.)
Dynamic ground mounts.
Old world updates to modern quality.
Send alts on missions similar to Legion class hall. (It might be nice to run old raids passively? Could be earned, ex. Run the raid 100 times.)
Hero talents should be more ambitious.
Hero talents should also be class skins (Every class should have something at least as cool as the felfire is for warlock, but unique animations/fx would be better.)
More cosmetic runes to change animations or spell effects.
More unique races (can be either allied or full races. New starting zones would be cool.)

Hope everyone can get something they want in the future.

Some things I would like to see one day would be…

Interesting / interwoven stories

Would love to see internal strife being introduced to each faction/race.

Some ideas…

  • Introduction of major neutral towns governed by a council made of various races and factions.
  • Tragic fates of faction leader loved ones by another faction/race either by accident or on purpose to plant seeds of division.
  • Disease / Sickness pop up linking to other races to further plant seeds of mistrust and division.
  • Introduce more Light and Void conflicts. These can be small and subtle seedlings planted throughout.
  • Dread Lords may or may not be behind many acts of division.

Just in general add a lot more down to earth and relatable yet interesting stories that introduces new interesting characters so the game can grow and not forced to rehash the same plot lines with the same characters over and over again.

Housing (Player / Guild Housing)

Most likely set up as instanced / phased / Sharded.

  • Cities: Reserved for Guild Housing only.
  • Towns: Select towns added with residential district with Low-cost/affordable basic dwelling unit. More towns with residential districts added over time.
  • Rural: Comes with Premium land outside dwelling area to customize. Plots of land near encampments get implemented over time with game patches.
  • Taxes (Gold Sink): All established housing comes with a monthly tax payment. Fail to pay taxes and you loose access to your property.

Craftsman Professions (Secondary)

  • Masonry: Builds the walls and roof of building.
    • In essence, constructs the footprint of building with material coming from gathering professions and looks unlocked from various sources including race specific sources.
  • Carpentry: Builds interior flooring, tables, chairs and other adornments.
    • In essence, creates all the decorative elements seen within the building including race specific elements unlocked via quests or reputation.

These professions could require reagents created from other primary professions to interlink all professions together to create a living and breathing economy.

Gathering Professions (Secondary)

  • Timber: Major source of material for Masonry and Carpentry.
    • Different types of trees yield different types of wood used for various recipes.

New Races

Either faction specific or open or I would love to see an entire neutral faction made of multiple races that have been slighted by the Horde and/or Alliance and become a prime antagonist to weave in new stories to pit the Alliance and Horde against each other while amassing strength and power.

Top races I would like to see

  • Naga
  • Arakkoa (Arakkoan)

New Class (Tinker)

  • Roles for class to fill
    • Tank
    • Ranged DPS
    • Healer/Support

Link to my idea of how I would craft/approach Tinker.

My Approach to Tinker Class

Dungeon

Would be cool to have a new location open up for a new patch of content where to access this content, you have to initially go through a dungeon.

An example is either or both an underground tunneling machine or underwater transport vehicle.

Both could start dungeon on land and fight 1st boss before boarding the transport machine.

Then while in transport, you fight your way towards the captain of the vessel and defeat them.

Then you exit vessel at new location in an underground/underwater biome with bioluminescence life atmosphere and fight the welcoming crew and ending with the finial boss.

Then you exit dungeon and you’re at the new content location.

With solo Dungeon technology, doing things like this would no longer be restrictive and could really tell more stories with dungeons instead of just aboard something to take you to new content. Instead you play and active role in getting to the new content.

I would like custom armor. Blacksmiths and Tailors with artistic talent could make a fortune. Like in real life.

Alchemy could make the tints and dyes. Jewelers could make adornments. It would be fabulous.

Ill be honest.

The last time i was excited about wow was when legion was announced. Talk about hyped.

Customizable artifact weapns.

Weapons like doomhammer and ashbringer that could be wielded by the player?!

Class halls that the player can hang out in?!

War against the burning legion!?

Lets goooo!!

Now its just …" oh, war within huh? Delves? Earthen? Going underneath azeroth?.. meh."

Im not excited for it. Havent been excited for an expansion since legion.

No thanks. I want the playable selection to be in line with the lore. I don’t want completely fabricated races that perpetrate a cycle of obsolescence of every race narratively as soon as the next patch hits.

More races to choose from, like furbolgs, vrykul, half-elves, arrakoa, and ogre’s.

Rebalanced and better designed talent tree’s, Paladins and DK’s needs worked on.

Old flight on launch, maybe a higher tier speed for it from path-finder.

New class, perhaps a spell-blade one.

Mythic + not being too rewarding forcing raiders to play it to be up to par. Maybe lower the gear score from them to normal raid loot or separating them like pvp gear to pve.

New BG maps and solo-que rated BG’s from release. Maybe reward vanilla pvp titles from them.

Return of the garrisons with it’s original features, such as zone choice placement.

Delves is a good start, I am excited for that.

I don’t think they can make it exciting for me.

The currency bloat, fomo + non-evergreen activities, and the way the dev team dug in their heels on things like Dragonriding vs. air swimming all point to a bad engagement model again.

The zone / story context for War Within is not exciting to me at all. At least with DF they took some of my favorite aspects (ahem) and built a mildly interesting story around it. I honestly don’t know how they’ll make this next expansion more interesting to me.

Dwarves v3 … for a person who loves dwarves … is not at all what I wanted. I won’t make one. I’m not interested.

So what would make it more interesting? Engaging? Exciting? I honestly don’t know. Here are some ideas though.

I’d like to see more evergreen content throughout the huge world of Azeroth. If there’s some way to incorporate that into War Within… ok?

I want to get over the faction conflict. Make it possible to play whatever race, whatever class, whatever faction and now we’re talking. I have many alts… and I would have MANY more if this were a thing. Or maybe I’d focus my efforts on my favorite race / class combos.

This wouldn’t be exciting but… it would be something… what if they made warbands + player housing + faction choice => new mega feature for player housing in ANY major city with whatever theme you’d want from Warcraft? I know I’m asking for crazy and unrealistic but that’s what it would take to get me excited about WoW.

I think a loot pinata would be exciting.

Murlocs as a playable race.

I don’t think they’ll be able to get Natsuko Ishikawa.

What would have excited you in War Within if you’re not?

I don’t even know. I think I’m playing WoW in the wrong decade. I don’t like the general story vibe of DF. The Anduid/Thrall cinematic doesn’t deviate from the direction so my expectations are quite low.

Which I would have preferred to be an actual dragon or drakonid. Because guess what? Like the Nightbourne you’re playing, Dracthyr are going to be narratively void as soon as we leave the expansion that introduced them.

Cross faction BGs.
PvP gear BiS for PvP.
PvP class/specs balanced for unrated.
Epic BGs tuned and adjusted regularly.
More epic BGs.

The only thing that will make me buy another expansion is if they said I will be able to fly my regular old mounts (not dragon flying) on day one without doing ANYTHING - - like, I mean NO Pathfinder BS, or it costing more than 100 gold to buy regular flying.

I was excited for TWW but with how D4’s seasons have panned out I think I’ll wait and see on it. I know they are different teams but D4 has been such a mess… how the heck can you even screw up a Diablo game that hard?

I think this would have been a much better idea than the Hero Specs. Give each class a single new full ‘hero’ spec instead of these half assed retread of the same mistake they made with Covenants tying flavour to power.

Non human, orc, elf focus. A new race that isn’t just something that could be a cosmetic option for an existing race. Way more cosmetics, more class+race combos (Specifically the most lacking ones like demon hunter)

Better class balance, not being ‘required’ to take certain talents and now hero specs which can ruin your aesthetic or type of character.

Better cinematics, I haven’t enjoyed a cinematic in a while.

Full release on one day, not paid early release.

Way more race customization (Especially for the furred races, Pandaren need an updated model too), with varied body types not limited to 2.

Better profession system (Not this expansions, for sure.)

New Hero class.

Illidari Fel Orc skin for Horde Orcs, faction conflict, Stormwind being sacked for once.

More class options for the Dracthyr (huge waste of a new race to keep them restricted to Evoker).

Improvements being made to the Dracthyr model to allow more armor customizations that aren’t just locked to character feature options.

Increased loot drops, Sylvanas dead, Anduin dead…hmm that’s about it really.
