What will the midnight class be?

There doesn’t have to be. They can do whatever they like.

They could, but they won’t. WoW’s class system is built around the idea that players get to play as derivatives of Warcraft heroes. Blizzard has never created a Bard hero in its entire history.

It should also be quite telling that they didn’t even create a Bard class in the Warcraft TTRPGs, and they had EVERYTHING in those books, even a Nerubian race/class.

You don’t know what they do or what they won’t. You’re only speculating. You have no more information than I do.

Aren’t paladins and death knights both magic knights?

And I really hope they don’t give another limited class to elves. We already have DH.

Except I’m not speculating. It is a FACT that there are no Bard heroes in Warcraft. The closest thing you have to one is the ETC which is a spoof and a homage to a garage band of ex Blizzard employees.

Think about it; Without a Bardic hero, what expansion can you make to bring in this class? For example, we had several dragon heroes, so we can have a dragon expansion, which leads to a dragon class. If you have no bard heroes (or villains) it’s impossible to create an expansion where a Bard class can be introduced.

The fact that we’ve had no bard heroes doesn’t mean anything. We had no “Evoker” heroes either, until Blizzard took something that already existed (dragons) and worked backwards from there. There are hundreds of different types of enemies, powers and abilities they can work backwards from to to make a bard class. They can use Banshees as the basis since they have the banshee scream. Sonic scream = sound magic, easy.

Not that it matters, they could make it up entirely from nothing if they felt like it. There is nothing anywhere that states they “have to” design classes a certain way, nor have they said anywhere that they only want to design them a certain way.

Again, acting like this is all some kind of binding legal framework is just silly.

Melee tinker spec would likely be tank in a mech suit that you can toggle like a druid form. I’d imagine a dps spec would be ranged with some melee abilities.

Honestly, I’ll continue being disinterested in new classes until there’s Tinkers. So far the only class added post-launch I thoroughly enjoy playing is DK. And sorta Monks. DH and Evoker were total flops for me.

So you’re seriously saying you can’t understand why Blizzard would create a new class name for a class based on the Dragon aspects? Do you also not understand why they had to create the Dracthyr race as well?

Again, the class design framework is allowing players to be Warcraft heroes. There is no Bard hero, so the concept doesn’t fit the framework. It doesn’t get more simpler than that. You would think after 4 iterations of this happening, people would figure it out by now.

Agreed. Tinker is really the only class the game is missing thematically. Undermine makes the lack of a technology class even worse.

Player housing is going to be the big selling point for midnight…

I’m willing to bet 70% of the next expansion will take place in the new housing feature… garrison 2.0.

While I had nothing against garrison’s, there is already quite a lack of manpower with development as it is. Everything just keeps getting lazier and lazier.

I understand what you’re saying, and I’m telling you I don’t agree.

You not agreeing doesn’t change the fact that you are wrong.

At this point I think you’re trolling me. This amount of obtuseness is quite absurd. I guess this is where the conversation ends.

I agree and disagree. If that is the big feature of Midnight, why would they announce it now? What’s going to hype for the expansion? Why not reveal the whole thing now.

I think there will be something, maybe a class, maybe a race, or something.

If it’s a class, now is the time for tinkers. Time for a science based healing/tank/rdps class. I’m not holding my breath, a new race like Harronir is more likely. But it’d be nice.

I dont think there will be a whole class. I think its going to be a tank spec for Shaman and player housing.

I don’t see shaman tanks happening. I know season of bori- err discovery did it but that’s a different game.

I also vaguely remember them saying that they don’t plan on altering the roles of any existing classes. Granted that was for TWW, so midnight might be different.

a reworked glyph system that makes more unique things for races/classes, themes

Illidan wasn’t a hero either. maybe Jay is the unsung villain of Boralus  but somebody got super defensive the minute I found a bard LOL

“Hero” as in major story/lore character, to the point where he appears on the cover of an expansion.

Him being good or evil is irrelevant.

“Jay the Bard” isn’t anything close to that.

Void weaver maybe?
