What were the most memorable quests for you?

Vanilla - Heculars Revenge, Torch of Retribution, In Dreams
TBC - Sabellian arc
WotLK - Brindenbrad, Wrathgate
Cata - Pretty much all of Silverpine
MoP - Divine Bell
Legion - Entire Nightborne arc
BfA - Rescuing Jaina from Thros, Brawlers Guild mystery quest

Oof. Hard to choose.

#1 Would probably be the Feralas quest to get the Sprite Darter Hatchling, because I loved those guys in WC3.

I will always remember the Camp Traurajo quests, and Mankirk’s quest, because those were my first experiences being like… woah, they’re going for gritty violent/traumatic here.

Aside from that, the quests in Legion leading up to Ysera, and then the follow up quests in Ardenweald were pretty good, and I’ll always have a memory of those as I think the only quests that made me kind of tear up a little.

Beyond those… I haven’t really found any WoW quests to be memorable. Some might have been a bit fun, or felt unique by WoW standards, some a tiny gems in a sea of collecting hides and teeth, but none have really felt to me like “storytelling” that I can dig my teeth into. WoW’s questing experience just doesn’t hold a candle to other MMOs in my opinion.

Not to sound like some nostalgia drunk classic monger (I’m really not) but… the ones that stick with me are from pre-BC. Linken’s quest line, the main thrust of the Blasted Lands, Attunement for Onxia…

One of the (very) few things the game really should resurrect from the WoW of the Bush Administration are the massive, world spanning, epic quest lines. When everything is hyper-localized it limits the scope and impact of a quest to that region. Basically, we’ve gone from Olympic scope questing to everything maxing out at the Highschool Regional level. And it shouldn’t be like that.

It’s WORLD of WarCraft - our adventures should take us all over it, and impact all of it.

who needs silk cloth to wipe?

i really liked the old world stuff like chromie’s stuff in the plague lands and the old redpath line. the quests while leveling were interesting in vanilla. Like you helped a guy fix the races in shimmering flats by basically using poisoned booze.

i loved everything in pandaria minus the mantid stuff as well.

One of the quest chanes I really liked was the battle for Jitha’alor on Horde, helping the Revantusk against the Vilebranch and saving Ongo’longo and the whole WC2 atmosphere. I love the Hinterlands and the Forest Trolls.
It was great how Primal Turntusk acted, how troll and war like she responded to the Vilebranch. I love that the Revantusk are still part of the Horde and want to conquer more for the Horde.

The poop quests, dear lord the poop quests… ugh

My favorite quest of all time was the Onyxia unmasking back in classic/vanilla.

Probably the one that made the most lasting impact was in WoLK the oracles in that ruined village (Mosswalker?) where they are being dragged around by LK minions and they are crying out:
“We gave shinies to shrine. We not greedy. Why this happen?” “We not do anything… to them… I no understand.” “I do something bad? I sorry…” “Please take… my shinies. All done…” “Use my shinies… make weather good again… make undead things go away.”

And one really can’t save any of them. Ugh! I can still hear their plaintive voices.

Crusader Bridenbrad is one of my favorites. Also, when I finally got around to playing a draenei character back in TBC (I had always been Horde), I was really amazed by their starting experience. The quest where you are learning the furbolg language, and turning into different animals and whatnot was just really cool and unique at the time.

I remember “The Last Wave of Survivors” in Darkshore. May those poor elves rest in peace.

Torture the Beryl sorcerer with the cattle prod… I imagine my face was much like The Emperors face each time he shocked Vader.

The original epic mount quests for paladin/warlock. Those felt like an achievement with unique dungeon experiences and rewards at the end.

In Dragonblight some NightElf sends me to kill a mage named Captain Emmy Malin, she is controlling a ley line focus point for Malygos.
Well ,I kill her for the “scum she is” and then its revealed in a letter she wrote to her poor Dad that she is sorry if he has heard anything bad… but she is actually working to undermine the enemies efforts and she hopes one day he will be proud or something to that effect. Well… now she is dead. I return to the NightElf that sent me on the assassination quest and he has the nerve to say. “Dont beat yourself up… you couldnt have known.” Like… dude YOU sent me!

The Linken’s quest line was sort of fun, sort of annoying for the amount of travelling required. I’ve still got my Sword of Mastery in the void storage.
The Netherwing dragon quest line was fun. The story quests anyway, not necessarily the dailies. Although the Booterang quest was always fun.

I get chided by friends because I’m a huge fan of the Draenor music. I’m ok with me, so I don’t mind the chides. Favorite is the track when ya gotta ’kill your 100’ 20+ garrisons later and I still enjoy it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The death knight starting zone, baby!

The original Hogger quest for me.

The one in Northrend for Crusader Bridenbrad that starts with Hope Yet Remains. Cried my eyes out.
