Congratulations on slapping the SOD community in the face.
Whoever put those NPCs in the game should be held accountable if there was no plans to release these in phase 9.
What an utter embarrassment

the sod community is very âlet me speak to the managerâ vibed tonight
genuinely sorry you fell for youtube rumor bait
That makes literally no sense.
To keep us talking about it; free marketing is the best kind of marketing.
Thereâs also the chance they had intended to do so, but ran into problems trying to get it to work. Classic is still very much a ârun it in compatibility modeâ. Hence why we have two versions: wow.exe and classicwow.exe; thereâs a specific reason why Retailâs EXE cannot run Classic. But Classicâs EXE can run: Era/HC/Ann/SoD and Classic (currently Cata).
âŚwhat that reason is? I donât know. â I did hear talk that they were planning to unify all the variants into one so youâd only need one EXE and then would just pick which âeraâ of the game you wanted to play in.
Did people not realize that kaghoe is garbage content and that guy just posts BS for views? Look at the comments on that video, the dude literally just responds to everyone spamming P9 HYPE
could be to gauge community support for it. wouldâve been better as a survey though.
there were npcâs added into the game. it didnt come from nowhere
I love how thereâs still people insisting it was âyoutube rumorsâ when there were literally NPCs added to the game that alluded to it
Great free marketing no one will even remember this in 5 years for classic plus
But did it keep at least 1 person subbed that would have waltzed out a few months back? And/or did it get someone to resub?
âŚand itâs not like they lied. They just put the red herrings in and let the playerbase run with the baton.
Cause coding a game is hard and Blizz Developers are exceedingly lazy at their work. Just look at retailâŚ
Retail actually gets quality content so idk what youâre talking about
Hmmm yeah i love when every other patch breaks something major in the game or when new patches are released with content that doesnt work and they donât bugfix for more than a week at a time.
I played retail bro⌠I know what iâve seen.
I agree with your frustration, but feel it necessary to point out that the correct word choice here is âalluding toâ, not âeluding toâ. Alliance shaman and Horde pallies were possibly alluded to or maybe just hinted at, but the entirety of Phase 9 has eluded our grasp.
No one will remember SoD in 5 years? Cap AF.
My guess is that they genuinely had more plans for SoD, but some people in suits decided something else. The timing and wording of the ending message along with the oddball decision to give us the MoP boost just screams of a choice from above.
Very likely what happened. Decision makers probably see MoP as the mid-term priority to keep MAUs. They donât want development going towards an end-of-life product like SoD. The long term play is a classic+ to drive up MAUs like they saw early on in SoD. Iâd almost wager they might even make Classic+ a paid box game. Justifying it by âall newâ content being added.
What are you talking about? Major patches in retail always come with some bugs that get fixed within a day (two at most) unlike SoD where they release a new dungeon and the last boss is broken for an entire month.
The Nightfall patch had the quest boss for the weekly turn-in bugging and not giving credit for the kill because there was hundreds of people in one area all attacking the same NPC. It was completely fixed within 12 hours.
Is it annoying? Sure. They just launched horrific visions and it was smooth, no bugs. Itâs always the world content that breaks because thereâs too many players and Blizzard doesnât have the QA team they once did.
Iâve said this before but people would be willing to logon the PTR and stress test if they offered some kind of incentive for reporting bugs.
I donât think it was a decision from higher-ups. The Classic team knows they failed with the launch of Cataclysm trying to manage both games.
You have to keep in mind that Cata/MoP have just as big of an audience as SoD and they have to please that group as well. They canât offer a quality MoP experience if theyâre working on SoD.
Who knows. Maybe the team intended on adding them to a later patch, but higher ups had them quit development on future content. A scarlet raid was teased in the inital SoD reveal presentation, but going by what Aggrend posted here it sounded like they didnât want them to even do P8.
