What to do til classic

I probably have more games in my steam library that have zero to 15 minutes than have more. It’s a bit ridiculous and I dont know how it happened. Probably sales, but sales on other things don’t trick me into buying things I never use usually.

Honestly though I know some people that have been playing Vanilla servers *cough not me, and let me tell you the class experience is so different that it is basically worlds apart. It is almost impossible to try and get a gauge on class preference based on retails class mechanics. I played a Mage *hmmm my friend played a mage (He has a lv120 mage) and he was blown away by the sheer differences. Were talking talent trees, different rank spells, the ability to use all the spells. It’s fantastic, cant wait for classic.

Leveling alts and sort of doing things I aim to do come vanilla / classic is what I do.

Spend more time talking with some friends in game on discord and we have been planning strategies for classic for us.

The other day we actually walked to shadow fang keep and then ran it slowly marking targets, CC and all the stuff we really don’t need to do and planning pulls and full clear and finish up quests and stuff, then we walked out and walked back (WM on) all the way to arathi and then flew back to IF from there.

We all have looms and no one attacked us, even passing by tarren mills.

/shrug.

Fun these days is in one way a lot like vanilla, ya take the framework of wow, but make your own story outside of the BFA rails and enjoy good friends and companionship.

Kinda fed up with BFA myself so I’m in the process of selling all my mats/consumables to gather as much as I possibly can before my sub runs out in 4 days. Then I’ll buy tokens which I’ll convert into Bnet Balance. I expect to get around 120$ balance.

If I ever play retail again, either in late BFA or the next expansion, I’ll be broke but that’s ok. I did the exact same thing towards the end of Legion and did just fine in BFA.

To answer the real question, just go outside, enjoy the family, play some single person games, go on a camping trip, find yourself a pretty girlfriend (Imma go ahead and assume you’re a dude), have some crazy adventures on a dirt bike, go fishing, lose some weight before Classic hits…

There’s plenty to do

Jaja marking mobs  . Those were the days man. Actual challenging and strategic content, not just pulling everything in sight.

I spent time yesterday actually showing a friend how I set up my num keypad to mark targets and what conventions I used with friends for kill / CC / sheep / etc.

Talked about warrior needing time to build threat and managing DPS and healer threat.

It was an interesting conversation.

Ya know actually doing old instances the old way even though they are pretty easy with looms and such gets you valuable practice where even pulling open world mobs is serious business if you don’t want a lot of death runs.

I have a night elf so I have made a pretend wet lands run on it just to kinda get my mind around that again.

It isn’t classic but since I do not have a beta invite it is as close as I can get to prepping myself for it.

Vanilla is a different set of things that you have to deal with than retail.

Thing that interests me most is that while it may be different it will be predictable and I won’t ever allow myself to feel rushed. If it takes me a year to get to 60 that will be fine, it will be there waiting for me when I get there.

I intend to stay in uber relaxed mode and find fun in each little thing.

I intend to write my story and use Vanilla as a framework for my own adventures, not riding the rails.

OH I agree wholeheartedly. I’m looking more for playstyle and what I really FEEL like doing when Classic rolls around. I dabbled for a while in a TBC pserver (for like a month or two) and I do miss the talent trees and not having every decision made for me by Blizzard.

I’mma play Elite Dangerous, X-Plane, and Farm Sim 19 till the 26th

I have a lofty goal of reaching 50k HK achievement before Classic drops.
27530/50000
…wish me luck.

In BFA… Not if you ask me.

Outside of BFA…
Kerbal Space Program just launched a new DLC that’s pretty good.
Path of Exile started a new league.
Risk of rain 2 has a new update w/ Character and stage releasing by the end of the month.

When my guild, which was the most active during Mop and Wod for server and we did mostly pvp on a pve server, which was even more amazing. Since Legions hit and now BFA, The guild died and everyone quit the game…the few that still plays left guild for more active guilds and they mainly just do Pve now.

So I know its not just me that feels the game is nothing like it use to be.I also enjoy solo Jrpg games, but with the excitement for classic… I can not play other games for more then a hour now.

I’ve been hunting old, rare recipes for my professions that I never bothered before and lvling toons mostly, along with helping my guild finish their progressions (even tho I can’t stand raiding BoD/CoS anymore), and when it’s done, it’s break time til Classic launch.

You know, I was kinda at ease with the game before getting invited to the two stress tests. Playing them was a huge mistake, lol. It made me fall in love with WoW again like in my early years, every hour was precious. Hell, I lost track of time completely in the last one, and had to go to work without sleep! Sadly, this came at a price, because I log in retail now and feel… nothing, really. No will to play, just chores and pass time till something better shows up.

There is plenty to do in BfA. Unfortunately, none of it is fun.

I’m just doing WQs that offer gold then off to old content for more gold/Xmog/Mounts (yes I like to collect some things). But ultimately all my activities revolve around making gold to buy tokens to live the rest of my wow life in classic.

Do you enjoy playing mobile lootbox games on PC?

I have two classes to cap at 120. Probably only have one or two toons on Classic.

It’s to slow and dull to have more than that.

Wait, nobody told me about funny hats. Are there funny hats I could be getting if I logged in? (I haven’t been on in…awhile)

But I agree. I normally find a free game on steam when I’m looking for a temporary time waster. Personally I’ve just been doing research because I might as well do it now rather than release day. Then I can focus more on just playing later on.

I’m taking one last hurrah through all the Vanilla zones as they are now, and will probably go through BC and Wrath too.

Levelling up toons in their natural zones, completing every Loremaster achievement again.

Dwarf Hunter - DMgh, Loch Modan, Wetlands, Arathi, Hinterlands
Human Mage - Elwynn, Westfall, Redridge, Duskwood, NSTV, CSTV
Night Elf Priest - Teldrassil, Darkshore, Ashenvale

I intend to do the Horde too.
