Certainly not. You can right-click report them for language.
I did and nothing was done. As per usual with Blizzard. So I used my own form of justice for a scumbag in game. By making the game hell for him within terms of service.
Just because you didn’t get instant feedback, doesn’t mean nothing will be done.
You must be new here.
I regularly get feedback from Blizz on reports I send in. It’s not instant but they do act upon reports when necessary.
Mate we had a guy threaten to DOX and send stuff in the mail to harm rankers because he broke brackets and he got kicked out of bracket 2. It took 4 days for Blizzard to reply and he got a week mute.
My situation wasn’t like OPs where he allegedly did nothing wrong and got targeted. Again, it’s scum behavior, but it’s within TOS.
I would like to preface by stating I loathe and despise PvP Server Culture. From its Highs and Lows, doesn’t matter. I loathe it all and wouldn’t think twice about it, if Blizz decided to eliminate them, all together. That being said, those types of Servers create such toxic behavior within the realms of its own policies: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/10184
Common Problems
- A player is camping me
- Keep being ganked and can’t play the game at all
World of Warcraft Classic
Game Masters will not address situations where you are repeatedly killed by the opposite faction. This includes situations that may be considered dishonorable such as corpse camping or killing players well below your level.
That being said, OP can “charge” this person against the Whispers and In-Game Mail.
There is a distinction between getting “repeatedly ganked” and not being able to play for days on end because the same player is constantly harassing you. If you can’t see the difference then your real life judgment must be pretty bad.
Within TOS
I, also, bolded the part that says “including situations that may be considered dishonorable”. Personally, I think it’s ALL dishonorable. I believe days of repeated ganking (under the same umbrella as “unable to play the game”) falls under “dishonorable”.
Being camped corpse camped for excessive amounts of time is unfortunately within the rules of a PvP server.
However, the repeated spamming of your mailbox is probably something you could report as well as any whispers you get.
It’s also against the ToS for a single player to have both an alliance and horde presence on PvP, yet it’s freely allowed to anyone who purchases an additional account(s). Even if Blizzard somehow found a way to enforce this fundamental segregation of PvP servers and did something sensible about multiboxing, instead of squeezing every last penny that players are willing to pay so that Bobby can smear generous amounts of black caviar on the lobster tail that tosses off the back of his yacht for sport, there’s still the problem of discord offering complete collusion between the factions in way that completely circumvents Blizzard.
Stopping collusion wasn’t possible back in 2005, and even less so now.
No they didn’t.
You were just as free to camp someone endlessly in vanilla as you are now on a pvp server.
That is not 100% true. GMs acted on what they considered to be cross faction harassment. You couldn’t just camp someone for day on end in vanilla without getting a GM to intervene. The game was very different back then.
Yes and in this case they might act on the cross faction harassment as the guy appears to have an alliance account as well. That has nothing to do with camping someone indefinitely though.
The whole “cross faction” communication thing hasn’t been a thing for years now. Especially now that you can do it in-client with real-ID chat. For all intents-and-purposes…talking with the opposite faction is allowed and encouraged.
I don’t even think Blizzard penalizes dual faction accounts on a PVP server either. They will however, ban u if u evade an ignore by hopping to another account and continuing to talk smack.
Boggles my mind how difficult it is for you antisocial, basement-dweller types to make a distinction between corpse camping for a few hours and spending days or even weeks using all of your game time to camp a specific player.
There is a distinction. What you fail to realized that BOTH are okay and explicitly allowed.
Insulting people who disagree with you doesn’t make you right.
