Its really upsetting and hurting my chances by a huge margin to even do regular mythics somehow!
Only if you aren't particularly good.
I cannot even understand how this suddenly cropped up all of the sudden
Out of necessity.
Item level and/or achievements aren't enough; logs and/or IO let you see how good somebody is and if you want them in your group.
I can see that being reasonable but what if I want to do Mythic +? I can't do that if I don't have a key. And they don't often drop for me for some reason.
The best way is to run M+ with friends, join a guild that run them, or exchange B-Tag of ones you meet in Mythic+ dungeons.
Eventually you won't need to rely on pugging.
I guess... This still is a experience ruiner for me. I'm sorely upset that some %@##%!#@ made something that actually made it impossible for me to do anything that isn't mythic + dungeons.
Never liked relying on a 3rd party system to calculate a score, but raider.io is necessary. Would rather have Blizzard create an official scoring system.
Huge problem though is players on large realms like myself won't get their scores calculated unless they do high keys meaning that more casual players will never get a ranking.
Mythic+ is strange, being able to do it properly doesn't mean knowing surface level mechanics you get in heroic/m0.
You need to be playing a class that is good for speed running dungeons and dealing with absurdly powerful trash (FM/Rogue good examples), tanks need to know how to kite, interrupts are life and death, knowing the trash is important.
A single wipe is the difference between getting closer to your 385 chest or going back a step.
People have more to lose than just time, io M+ score isn't perfect, but with gear bloat and welfare !@#$ out the %^- ilvl doesn't mean anything. Putting time into doing all 10 of the dungeons at 8+ on time or relatively close is the cost to get into decent pug groups.

That's the funny thing though. For the past few weeks all have been clear and simple experiences. All the pugs I've been with are a whole lot smarter than any other player I've leveled up a character with. I trust Pugs in Mythic + than any other matchmaking in WoW. And somehow this is a stupid "Optional" is making it a necessity.
you have a score whether or not you have the addon, just do enough keys, ez.
It's a score that you need to be so high as to be oxygen-starved, if you want any shot at mythic+ groups.
Well this is just fan-!@#$ing-tastic. Thanks Raider.io for ruining Mythic runs for me. Never thought that until now I need a third party to be important and have fun.
it's literally just an aggregate of data directly from blizzard. merely a list of dungeons you have done (that are on the leaderboard)
I genuinely don't understand why people have such a hard time with this. the more m+ you run, the better your score. Literally nothing makes your score go down, so failed runs don't penalize you.
At the end of the day - no one is obligated to invite you to their group. A group leader can set whatever requirements they want. If they're running a +6 key and they only want people who have cleared a +6 already.. .
that is ok. If someone doesn't like it, their options are to start their own group, or run enough lower keys and build up to being able to do the +6s.
but, this is what it all boils down to: no one is obligated to invite you to their group
I stick to running with friends. Find a guild or realm group to team up with
It’s a number that other players distill your total objective worth and potential into, because clearly that’s totally possible to do fairly and accurately.
Sadly it is. There is an entire industry based around calculating someones value, so businesses know whether to settle for X dollars, or risk a higher payout by going to trial. A doctor who dies in a plane crash due to maintenance negligence, will be worth 20 times more in court than a school bus driver, for example.

Let me tell you something. I've been told by a few people who wanted a io score that mine is so bad that I shouldn't be doing mythic. Explain to me how is that fair? That's quite harsh to be told because someone can look me up, and say. "Oh, look at this person. hasn't done enough or is a literal crappy player and yet has gear ranging up to mythic 4!" Even though the mythic + dungeons I've been trying to get into are 2s and 3s!
Maybe these people are being far too judgmental but so far that's been happening, and every other one I've been attempting to join don't even tell me why I've been declined after asking them if I am good to them.
So, if needing to do more Mythic + is a way to improve my score. It is a absolutely stupid and flawed way of showing it. I'm somehow so far behind to these guys in their stupid little beady eyes that I'm apparently a vegetable in a death bed to them.
I can see that being reasonable but what if I want to do Mythic +? I can't do that if I don't have a key. And they don't often drop for me for some reason.
You can't figure out how to get a Mythic+ key but you expect people to invite you to Mythic+ groups?
Yeah, Raider.io is definitely the problem here. /eyeroll
I promise you, the people asking for you to have a raider io score for mythic +2 are looking to be carried
run away

And what difference does it make by the end of the day that I do have it. And that I ended up wasting it? What then? I don't have another key now. I gotta rely on another. And what if I done EVERY dungeon and I'm locked out for the week? Mistakes will happen. Every single person is human and not everyone is capable of finishing +15 within a freaking day starting from +2 if their ilvl is only 340. I gotta wait a week or get lucky for a item to boost me up from a run.
And to further clarify, I do mythic first. I always been because that always been the start up but I can certainly tell you at this point, its becoming harder to join or round up a few people on my own because of this crap.
I don't have another key now.
I may be wrong, but afaik, you don't lose a keystone for failing a 2.
Can someone please tell me what this is? I dunno what happened but all of the sudden this week is all about "Checking io" or "Have good io score" And when I ask, I either don't get a response, or they tell me that I'm too horrible for doing mythic dungeons. What the hell people? I'm doing Mythic +4 dungeons okay and now all of the sudden I'm no longer validated because some crap these players are making up?
Seriously though, what the hell is a io score and why is this preventing me from doing something I've been doing fine for a while now? And it does not help that these idiots won't tell me what that even is.
Update: okay, I got my answers and I already came to a conclusion that Raider.io is a cancerous third party that it pretty much left me in the dark and its too late to even do about it. So, to get this straight. I gotta do mythic dungeons to get a io score but the problem is. I've been rated by some elitist that I have a crappy score (Because I have no damn close how it is rated and what's the threshold for be considered "good") that I should NOT be doing regular mythics by any means and yet for the past few weeks I've been okay and clearly as high as +4. What the hell!?
Does Blizzard even approve of this? Its really upsetting and hurting my chances by a huge margin to even do regular mythics somehow! I cannot even understand how this suddenly cropped up all of the sudden and now I'm incapable because of some stupid person's program to dictate my experience? I know I'm coming off as a whiner but seriously, I can't even prove myself if I'm being judged already.
agreed 100% IO needs to be baned. I got AOTC first week ( average grp ilvl 345 ). 98% parses on most fights. Ive even completed a +11 in time with freidns while we were a lot lower ilvl.
Yet I cant get into any groups becuase my IO score isnt over 1000. becuase I never bothered to do all of them first week at high keys and now i cant cuz these baddies wont invite anyone under 900 io while them selfs only have 500.
Im guessing its a way for elitist guildies to keep the riff raff out.
I just don't get why you have to have a high .io score just to enter a +2 or +3. One group even wanted 350+ iLevel. For a +2????? WHY??? Why should you have to have gear that is much better than what you'd even get in such a run before a PUG will let you in? forget that.
It keeps bad players rightfully out of high keys

Yes, good players like running with other good players.
It's not like you can kick somebody if it turns out they aren't particularly good; you're locked with your group, so best not take any chances, eh?

Yeah I remember Wotlk maybe Cata before in game ilvl was a thing 3rd party mods could give you an ilvl, and that was at the time used like raider.io is now.
It is necessary, people just go overboard. They don't say 'oh he's +4, let's give him a shot in our +5.' They instead say, 'oh he hasn't done +10, so we don't want him for this +5.'
You think you have it bad, some classes and speccs have no place in content right now and they could be the highest raider.io and just the color of their name 'disqualifies' them.
