Burden wasn’t on me, but whatever helps you walk away feeling like you got the win.
Doesn’t disprove my point, but hey, you do you.
Right, again no argument.
Forsaken, so the Horde.
Which she was the Warchief of, and in a war with the Alliance at the time, so yea she was doing it for the Horde, before they made her twirl her mustache some more.
That’s my problem with how they’ve wrote the Forsaken as a whole. Any bit of screen time the race has was sponged by Sylvanas.
She still feels out of left field for me. Wasn’t she rejecting the forsaken all through Cata? Idk, maybe with some more breath put into her she could be good, but the fact they had her be the one to reach out to Ceila doesn’t help.
As the Night Elf that enraged Sylvanas into creating the world’s biggest bonfire said “You can’t kill hope.” Or something along those lines.
Hmm … well I seem to recall part of the reason she didn’t like the Forsaken was that she wasn’t fond of Sylvanas? Beyond that, she kind of went on a one man vengeance streak for quite some time. First she targetted the Scarlet’s. Then she targeted Necromancers. TBH … when all of this is put together she just seems to have a massive issue with fanatics of any sort. Which … I suppose makes sense when you consider her daddy dearest.
If putting words in my mouth to what I’m brought up helps you think you’ve won the argument, then by all means go for it. No point in wasting time on someone who goes to such tactics because they don’t have an argument.
Possibly, but I forgot about hey until she randomly popped up at the Inn in the Garrison with a quest.
We’ll have to see what happens to her moving forward, but given Blizzard current streak, well…
funny, many of us here like at least 1 of those characters that you name even after the miserable treatment that blizzard does to them. maybe we are masochists!
Plus, its not like she’s had much of a personal narrative since MoP? She sort of shows up and is involved in other peoples/factions stories, but doesn’t hasn’t really had one of her own since she managed to take down Gandling.
I’m concerned … but she has always been a remarkable example of Forsaken Free Will; she’s shares many of the necessary life experiences needed to make a good Forsaken leader; and she has always had too good a character foundation in general to be the perpetual cameo character she’s been for so long. She’s a forced as hell rep right now, but that not always be the case.
That hopeful fool in me therefore hopes for the best in what appears to be her finally getting a new character arc of her own. She could make for a very interesting Forsaken leader with just the right direction and TLC.
Leader might be a strong position for her to take, but as a second I could see it.
I wish they didn’t turn Nathanos into a yes man. The few times he had those “Wtf are you doing?” Moments were pretty nice, and I had hope he would’ve taken up leading them himself.
I’ve seen forsaken fans say they’d like to see a council, and I agree with that myself. It might be the only thing they could do at this point, but we’ll see.
Yeah, I had a lot of hopes for Nate too … all in vain it seems. As for a Council, I think it would a Hallmark Holiday Miracle to get enough development to just make Voss a palatable racial Rep for them; especially with the danger that is the Calia lingering around. Though … honestly the only remaining characters of note could make for an interesting one conceptually.
Velonara seems to have taken the Dark Ranger leader spot.
Belmont, as contentious as he is, is the sole remaining Forsaken Military commander of note. He’s a chainsaw, but he could be made useful.
Tattersail is relatively new, but she is the leader of the Forsaken Navy with Nate and Sylvie both in the wind.
Faranell is the leader of the Royal Apothecary Society.
Add Voss and her unique perspectives into this mix and there is at least possibility. But every single one of these characters needs a whole lot of work; and all very different types of development and character growth. I suppose Calia could join this group if needed, but she’s risks a cult of personality of her own building up to replace the one that surrounded Sylvie.
I’m really interested in what she’s going to do now without Sylvannas calling the shots.
Her running off after you inform her of the meeting between Caila and Derek leads me to think she has plans of her own that doesn’t involve the Forsaken
It was nice to see some of the dark rangers being loyal the forsaken than Sylvanas. I think she would be a nice one to see.
He’s… Something. His methods get results, but at a cost. Having him around though to voice a darker side of warfare for them could add a nice flare to the whole thing.
Agreed.
Keeps the Plague relevant and a threat, and much like Belmont his methods get results. Though I could see Blizzard using him as a catapult to try and pull some drama, same with Belmont.
She could, strangely enough, could be the symbol that the forsaken are about free will amount the group, and someone who could keep their people in mind.
I’d actually like to throw two more into the ring that haven’t had alot of love.
Helcular: When I saw him during the legion pre-event taking command and helping push back against the legion I loved it. I’d like to see more done with him
Gunther Arcanus: Blizzard adds in an undead who broke free from control of the Lich King by himself, and is even called a Lich by the Forsaken despite not being one would make for not only a powerful new figure for the Forsaken, but for the Horde as well.
Yea, I think the effort would be worth it. Give them their own view points on different matters and it could help re-build what the Forsaken have lost during this expansion.
My problem with her is she knows nothing about what they’ve been through. She doesn’t even suffer from the same crippling weakness or torn and battered bodies they have. She came out perfect and I fear it’ll just be another Alliance that just so happens to be planted on the wrong side.
Now could I see her leading an ally race of Undead for the Alliance? Sure could be interesting to see the interactions between the two different groups.
Calia as a Alliance Undead AR leader … would be my preferred choice.
Have the rift go down the line that BtS showed, and be done with it. There are those within the Undead populations that would reclaim the identities they held in life if given the opportunity to. There are those that have largely moved on from those lives, more fully adopting their new Forsaken personas. There are many in a spectrum in the middle, and would have a choice to make; and many reasons to make it.
With the destruction of the Helm of Domination there is no shortage of potential Undead who’s minds can be freed in the North. There are enough undead out there to conceptually support the growth and development of both groups.
I want to see what blizzard does with the now free scourge. If the forsaken do indeed sweep through and claim them, it might give a case for them to write another skirmish between the Alliance and the Horde, which lets be honest, they’re always looking for a reason to do that.
Could also give way to the Dark Fallen for the Horde as a Alliance race as well.
I still want them to finally move away from the whole “World of War(craft)”, for at least one expansion and let each people choose a path that isn’t predestined to repeat the same tired storyline again.
Let each race deal with their own nations indepentant of their factions.
Sort of what they did in Legion but BETTER. Only this time, Player’s races could withdraw from War and deal with each nation’s own Stories.
It’d finally bring back a use for the under-utilized cities.
I mean, a story centered around the Forsaken trying to re-establish themselves as a people after all of their losses. Building a New Capital and finding new Leadership.
Same with the Nightelves. With the Night Elves continuing Hostilities against the Forsaken, which causes tensions between them and the Alliance.
The Dwarves could find themselves are odds with the Dark Iron, without a common enemy, old tensions and bitter rivalries flare up.
Tauren would be faced with the difficult decision if the Horde is really were they belong.
Gnomes could finally retake their city and clean it up.
Blood Elves can finding find peace and stop being so Edgy…
My main fear with this is that Blizzard has a habit of making the Horde’s ‘version’ just an eviler and less relevant version of what the alliance has and I don’t want to see that happen to the forsaken, particularly since having Horde characters sidelined from major, non villain roles, in death related neutral content, would be really frustrating and sadly, quite likely.
This. It’s why I’ve stopped wishing for Horde-exclusive organizations to mirror anything founded by the Alliance. They never turn out well.
Having it happen to the Forsaken would be even worse. Actively gutting a Horde group and making them more evil and less relevant just so the Alliance could have the good parts of what they used to be would be beyond infuriating.
A million times this. I’m already annoyed enough that they seem to have made Void Elves into “better Blood Elves with the power of the Void”, and a Lightforged Undead or whatever the heck Alliance undead AR would be nightmarish. All the benefits of undeath (because remember, Alliance powerups have no consequences) with none of the moral, mental, or physical difficulties.
