What the heck, Drustvar?

I know the narrative they’re going for here.
Doesn’t change the fact that it looks extremely silly.

I’m sure every human/high elf/dwarf kingdom in land previously held by trolls was just peacefully colonized before the savage trolls attacked.
Had they simply agreed to share and donated half of the Eastern Kingdoms to them, they’d still be living in harmony to this day.

So does the game also generalize that rl priests can use light magic? No…the answer is no.

The Drust had every right to tell the Kul Tirans that they did not wish to share their lands, and they clearly had the means to communicate with them, as the Thornspeakers said.

Instead, they decided to try to kill the Kul Tirans.

Yet you defend those actions? No. The Kul Tirans came with peace. The Drust reacted with murder.

The Kul Tirans were within every right to defend themselves. They did not have any “responsibility” to retreat.

And again, the Thornspeakers existed. They CHOSE to let their race go extinct. They must have felt their race was irredeemable after what they did to the Kul Tirans.

The only time I think poorly of witches is when someone gets upset about them in a game and the impact that game might have on real people. Then, and only then, do I truly detest witches.

Evil and good as tropes in a story (game) are standard, actions are what speak. The actions of the witches IN GAME have a negative impact on my character. Therefore, they are bad. It’s not a live and let live, it’s a “I’m about to set you on fire if you don’t stop casting black gunk on me while I pick this flower.”

Stop. I’m not saying GORAK TUL DID NOTHING WRONG!
I’m making a meta criticism.

It looks silly because it was incredibly convenient for the Kul’Tirans.
Try to imagine a world where they never took the Drust land. They would have already held all the best settlement areas in the island, and the human settlers would be relegated a few fringe areas at best.
Kul’Tiras would have been a feeble nation, if a nation at all, of haggard refugees forever.

To be fair… The Drust deserved it based off their rituals and desire to kill the Waycrest too.

It was either the Waycrest were genocided or the Drust were. The Drust lost.

No. Any witch that attacks, or better yet kills, alliance members are good people in my book.

Drustvar imo is one of the best zones made since Vanilla. Loved the dungeon Waycrest Manor also.

I read somewhere that there’s zero evidence that anyone, for all time, who was “burned as a witch” was ever into anything like “witchcraft.” They were just social outsiders or even totally innocent people who were merely accused and the accusation was taken seriously by “the authorities.”

Torture, apparently, will make you tell your accusers exactly what they want to hear though.

Drustvar gave off a Snow White vibe, do with that what you will.

It could be witches, some evil witches! Which is ridiculous 'cause witches they were persecuted. Wicca good and love the earth and women power and I’ll be over here.

I mean in WoW they are very clearly witches on account of…you know…turning stuff into possessed hostile monsters and applying curses to people turning them to monsters or pigs or whatever.

Eh wiping out the drust in favor of a race that can actually progress is for the better.

The drust engaged in a war of annihilation against the Kul Tirans that was so bloody and brutal that their own people left them to help the Kul Tirans, but let’s keep beating the “COLONIALISM BAD” drum like context doesn’t matter

People equating WoW in-game witches with wicca is like Christians being upset about the depiction of angels in Diablo, or Scientologists being mad about the aliens in XCom (lol).

Also, bumping a necro-thread just because

The Drust attacked them first, and did so brutal enough to disgust their own Druids, sooo… Skill Issue.

and yes, the Witches are evil monsters that attack you on sight
