I want Rift.
Good that the tree has less nodes, but it’s disappointing they took out Flame Rift. A visual that cool deserves to be in there somewhere. I like actives, so I’d even be fine with Decimating Bolt if it returned somewhere.

When the expansion starts and people are having to regear, your haste value won’t be nearly what it is, so our cast times won’t be so fast.
Also having some mobility is important. Trying to pretend that we don’t need any is silly.

Rift is great what do you mean they can position it better but rift is a awesome cool spell which is highly used in pvp with almost 100% pick rate

But changing the tree we had last week to this, forcing the right side to get out basic CD at the capstone level again, hell no.

have you played Alpha? have you seen how fast destro cast is in the current build? non-cast is longer than 1.5 sec and I’m not including backdraft, we don’t need them to force us into garbage “instant” talent at the expense of our MAIN CD because of mobility’s sake, we no longer need it when all our cast are less than 1.5 ON EARLY EXPA that’s what I meant, also if you want more instant cast for some reason, go and play hellcaller
rift where fine where they were at a side, as an option if u want to go there and pick them, I even complimented them for putting Rift into the tree without messing around with core talents, but then we get S3 all over again and I’m sick of it delete this garbage talent, they constantly force us into them and I’m sick of this holy garbage of a spell running the spec, I had enough in S3
looking forward to using rifts … few things beat ripping holes into the fabric of reality to tear ur foes down.
as for any mechanical downsides… i’ll cope.

Nope, I haven’t been in the alpha yet, but I have seen the “math” and claims you’ve made before and so I might be taking what you say with a grain of salt.
Plus claiming that no one needs mobility is simply ridiculous. You could be correct about everything else and that statement would still be inaccurate.

With how fast pve mechanics are becoming.
Anything that makes you mobile while doing DPS is a huge plus for pve.

if you take the “no one needs mobility” and remove the WHEN YOUR CAST TIMES ARE SO SHORT of course is gonna be an awful take, taking what you want from a sentence without quoting the full sentence is just being a jerk and dishonest.
so if you haven’t played the alpha or at least seen the cast time, don’t try to argue what I’m telling you, our longest cast its like 1.5 outside no proc soul fire, and without backdraft in early expa gear we are not in need of mobility any other instant cast its welcome but not at the expense of my freaking infernal or my left side of the tree, and if you want an extra instant take hellcaller, you can finish almost all your cast before you have to move because they are SO FAST

No, that doesn’t change anything. Even if we do have some spells with a short cast time, having some mobility is important. Claiming that mobility is unnecessary is ridiculous.
I’m not cherry picking, I’m just pointing out obviously flawed claims. Mobility is important for every class. It’s more important for some classes than others, but every single spec and class benefits by having at least one or two mobility skills. You claimed nobody needs mobility, that is incorrect.
You’ve made some wildly outlandish claims previously on the forums, so I’m not sure if you just don’t understand how crazy some of the claims you make are or what you consider accurate, but I think we have different definitions on what that entails.
Edit: Just to clarify, I don’t like the position swap between Infernal and Dimensional Rift. I would like to see Infernal moved back up to the middle of the tree. But some of the stuff you claim is just wild.

The movement of the talents is pretty bad but rift was a fantastic spell that did a ton of damage and I hope to see its triumphant return.
So far, that only thing I hate about it is the lack of Mastery scaling on rifts. I would really prefer if they fine tuned that so we’re not looking at a dead stat.

I don’t really Gel with the Destro community I guess. Like when everyone was up in arms about making CDF worth taking with the tier set.
I love rift. It’s visually entertaining which sometimes is all you need.

my claims are from a guy who has played lock since Woltk, and since then I always had clear the high-end content and also played in high levels of PVP, if you think my claims are off maybe you lack experience with the class or with difficulty, I also play a mage at the same lvl as my lock and while I do think mages are far superior to lock in regard of movement and class flow I do understand that warlocks are supposed to be less mobile and it makes sense when you are walking nuclear launcher if you don’t like the class design you may always play a mage or a hunter.
sadly on this expa talking mostly about raid our dps is crap, only demo is good enough, and mobility may be a concern but in fights that I barely move I get outdps, even if you feel like the spec is lacking on fight because you gotta move constantly, hey play aff that’s what I do
and again, I won’t take mobility trading off my freaking infernal, or an awesome part of a talent tree, that’s where you cherry-pick my takes, non-speaking about the answer about mobility is “dimensional crap” that is unreliable, SLOW, have an awful animation and when I’m about to press it on an add I gotta think twice because if I get a “shadow rift” I’m screw
if you want them to fix mobility for destro KJC is the best solution, but I like the way they manage it with shorter cast time, shorter cast time means you won’t be stopping your cast when you have to move you may finish it moving with burning rush and start casting again, not casting while moving it is not a problem if your spell hits hard enough to compensate that has been the case since mop, also like I said if you feel you need more mobility as destro go hellcaller there you go
Numbers wise, the CDF tier wasn’t bad. The problem that I had is that there was no QoL improvements for it so it just suffered from all of the same issues it had before. It forces us to be even less mobile or to lose/cancel the cast to dodge mechanics. That just doesn’t feel good when you have to throw away your cool down because of RNG.
At least in the current talent tree, it looks like they have a talent to boost it and make it channel faster, which is nice. That will help, but unsure if it’s enough for me to consider taking it.
