What, specifically, do you like about BfA?

Nazmir. It is one of the most beautiful zones in the game to me. The necropolis is just stunning.

Quite a bit, actually. This is my first expansion since TBC, and I’m generally having fun with the game. I very much have enjoyed all of the raids, and thoroughly enjoy M+, which wasn’t a thing the last time I played.

I thought the zones were well designed and interesting as well. Quest design and leveling was vastly improved since the last time I did it.

Really, I don’t have many gripes. Islands and warfronts were boring. WQs got old really fast. The Mechagon/Nazjatar dailies got old even faster. And I wish there was a better system for acquiring max level Azerite pieces. Like, BLP no repeats on the random pieces.

The expansion has flaws, for sure. But at the end of the day, I’m still putting 50 hours a week into it, and having fun. I haven’t so much as launched another game in the 14 months since I resubbed.

For me there are plenty of things that I like about this expansion such as the level of detail in the environments especially zuldazar which is one of my favorite places besides nazmir. The siege of boralus is my personal favorite out of all the dungeons though I like how chaotic everything seemed and it flowed really well for me it kind of reminded me of strathholme… the whole danger element plus the sharks that could one shot you if you weren’t careful.

The art. That’s about it. Well, and the music too, if you don’t include that in the art.

I am happy some people liked some things about it  I myself stopped playing my 110-120 toons and mostly don’t play WoW much at all now which is kind of sad.

Only the art designs.

Looking back, there actually was a bit that I liked, even though eventually I got bored and quit BfA in about May.

I liked:

  1. Boralus. As a model for how to do a major zone hub, I think the design of Boralus was 100% spot on.
  2. Drustvar. I liked the tone of the place, even though the quests didn’t particularly engage me for more than one run-through.
  3. The cinematics were hit and miss for me. But the cinematics I did like were, IMO, some of the best things Blizz have ever done. Specifically, the BfA cinematic trailer and Old Soldier.
  4. The character and story of Jaina Proudmoore. In an xpac in which the storytelling did not, IMO, hit the mark, I nevertheless quite enjoyed the slightly melancholy tone of Jaina’s character and story.
  5. Nightborne allied race. Specifically, I like how unexpectedly tall they are, compared to other races, when you’re grouped together in dungeons.
  6. The Siege of Boralus dungeon was fun.
  7. The Blood Elf heritage armor set looks amazing.
  8. Teaching Majo the Tortollan to ride a horse.
  9. Dinosaurs. Nuff said.

The art, that’s literally it.

my allied races and heritage armors i got that ill always have with me.

Vulpera. They’re my favorite thing in the game, on par with Pandaren.

After refreshing myself in Classic, the idea that Mechagon is a “mega-dungeon” is hilarious. It’s literally the outside island with juiced up mobs, and a normal-sized indoor dungeon that falls way short of fulfilling the vision of an ancient Gnomish city filled with technological marvels.

I like the art and music

Art and music. Kind of a subset, but the blood elf heritage armor is pretty cool. The war campaign was fun. Doing it now on characters all in a row is pretty cool.

sudden w-bosses that require a whole mess of people in the zone to come help down

the cinematics are always well done. lost honor, old solider, opening etc…

Zandalari and Vulpera, I guess.

I feel like Allied Races in general were a great idea, but Blizzard didn’t choose many races I actually care about.

In the couple of weeks I played in the Beta before unsubbing without purchasing it, I really did enjoy the new zones and the questing experiences in them, especially Drustvar and Zula’Dazar. Even when not actively questing just running around exploring was highly rewarding.

Can someone who actually played it tell me if there was a point to that big penguin-covered ice slide going down the mountain just north of Boralus Harbor on the Stormsong/Tirsigarde Sound border? A world quest maybe?

Drustvar. I’ll take Abby Lewis and give points over Sylvanas.

It was, indeed, a world quest. It was fun, once or twice.

I love Mechagon. Especially the rep grind they have in place there.

I also love Boralus as a city, it’s gorgeous.

Oh and I loved the weetches of Drustvar cackle

Well ive played really casually since Cata so the main things I like about BFA are the World Quests and gearing through them I loved the Zones and the Story I also loved that Professions were easier to level near max vs the past once you made it past like 250 - 300 it was a grind I didn’t care for. I also love the Heart of Azeroth and the artifact grind with it. I also love benthic gear and upgrading it through the essence system.
