I’m trying to update my dwarf lexicon on racial epitaphs and I am currently stumbling upon a hiccup when it comes to the Arathi people.
I can’t exactly call them knife ears or knifebrows, since on average the arathi have an elven-humanoid ear hybrid that is roughly double the human standard yet half the elven.
“Imperialist” doesn’t fit because their entire empire is isolationist.
Maybe burnt-arses because they worship a flame and sit on their arses all the time.
Limp-wicks, maybe? Lamplighter insult.
I need to come up with an insult to incite a racial war and yet I am struggling to come up with one.
Help an Earthen out.

An Earthen calling itself a Dwarf, while it towers over actual Playable Dwarves.
Talk about Cultural appropriation.

I recognize that this Expansion has tons of funny insult names for the characters in it. The different societies have different terms for each other.
The Kobolds recall being called vermin by the stone heads. That was a nice touch.
I am a fan of who ever chose to up the ante on ways to make fun. The fun is in the making!

Bringing up their possible mixture of Humans and Elves as a negative might work?

I cannot add any further insult to injury then whatever fate has for the elven parent of that lineage.
They will vastly outlive their progeny and no racial slur can inflict a greater pain than that.
Take note of the server. I specifically am targeting players.

On the flipside what would be a good derogatory term for Earthern? I usually have my undead refer to the living as breathers or just go;
But neither really apply to the Earthern.

*Alludes to the goblin faith of the Afterlife being a Great Party where one shows off their wealth to their ancestors and dead rivals.
Edit: On second thought, these may all be titles that I have gained through repeated antagonization of the goblin role players on wyrmrest accord.

If you want a race war, that is a peculiar target, since the Arathi are not playable.
Blizzard has Blood Elves making Racial jokes about Tauren.
Blizzard has Dracthyr making Racial jokes about Worgen.
These are playable races.
There are not much stakes for Players to get into some Race War for a non-playable race.
Now- what are they even? They are a mix of Kul Tiran Fatties, normal Humans, and mixed with that filthy lot…. are the Elves with Golden Eyes - the best Elves. The best people.
I am not entirely sure these Arathi are from our universe or time line, even. I think they may end up being the Humans from AU Azeroth that are in the same AU as AU Draenor - which gives an avenue for Yrel and her Lightbound to perhaps come to Azeroth the same way.
As a person who metaphorically lives under a rock, I have to ask: why not mention the fact that they literally do?

Knife ears, dagger ears, floppy ears, I’ve heard them all. I’m sure Arathi use the same slurs against themselves as much as anyone. Those Earthen are just jealous of elven beauty.

But “Imperialist” isn’t a slur outside of twitter and the other ones don’t really roll off the tongue that easy.
