What’s your secret hidden grind spots?

Yeah I’ve often wondered what Blizzard would do about pickpocketing in BRD or even LBRS as both used to be very lucrative. I’m hopeful they are restored to original resist rates as that’s where I used to farm my gold back in 2004-2005.

As for Silithus mining, that might be a good option. On Northdale I was a Warrior so I didn’t try to head down there, and stuck to Azshara. Helped being so close to Orgrimmar and all. Come Classic, I’ll be rolling a Paladin, then eventually a Rogue. I’d imagine it could be good, but don’t forget that the invisible elite bugs as well in some of those hives. Getting dotted up and poisoned could be disastrous.

You are so right about the gnolls. I never bithered with them but the more I started grinding on characters the more I noticed camps of mobs placed and spread out just for that purpose.

I think that some of the quests in vanilla were effectively experience on how to grind mobs. One might notice how a low drop rate for the quest items could actually be a good thing…

If I told you I’d have yo charge you money.

Ok here’s mine:

  1. Turtles. There are usually like 15-20 of them in their “coast spawn locations”. Turtles are easy to kill, they don’t run at low heath, they are skinnable, their trash loot sells for almost as much as bears and bats and nobody was ever farming them.

  2. Felwood bears. Especially if you are herb and skin, you can really make a mint here.

  3. Silithus cultists and elementals - not really a secret since people grind rep out here in droves, but if you can get to a good spot when few people are online it’s very nice money.

As for pre-40 for the first mount gold, I always do turtles or ogres, especially if I’ve got mining and skinning. I can’t tell you where though, but with enough research, you’ll find optimal spots. This is a great thread btw, bookmarked.

Part of my decision on where to grind depends on the professions I have. This gal was a skinner when I was leveling, and that meant I loved spots full of turtles, whelps, wolves, or other mobs that were good for skins. (Meat off some of them was a bonus for cooking.)

My warlock was tailor / enchanter, and I spent a lot more time hunting humans than animals, because of the cloth.

On my rogue pick-pocketing was really fun so I tended to pick on humanoids more often, just to see what they might have. (Ogres don’t have pockets. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

lol nice try bro

Same as everyone else’s.

The tunnels are too crowded for stealth for the most part, and you can’t sap bugs. As someone who has spent plenty of time in both silithus and azshara, azshara is definitely better for thorium/arcane crystals.

That said, if you are capable of fighting through the tunnels, you are pretty much guaranteed to be by yourself.

Its a secret.

Killing the [redacted] in [redacted] next to the [redacted]. They also dropped a lot of [redacted] which usually sold well at auction.

A secret can be kept between 2 people.
Anymore than 2 and it’s no longer a secret.
Yea I’m not telling.
Even though pretty much every single spot for good grinding is known.
Im still not telling.
It’s a secret.

Ill be grinding my mid 30s in arathi to gather iron. I need ~360 of them so that will take a little bit. I will spend early 40s in badlands grinding rock elementals. I need ~100 deeprock salt
Ill spend 50-54ish grinding timbermaw rep. Anything after that ill be grinding/questing wpl/epl or brd/lbrs. This will get me through some of the worst level ranges and hopefully i can avoid the level 37-39 slump but dont know what to do for 47-50

The two things I will mention is to always have nearby alternative farming spots and farm for yourself. If you show up to your place and find a couple people already grinding there, especially opposing faction, you might want to go elsewhere that has less time competing. Also, one the of the main points of making gold is saving gold so if you can get materials for yourself while generating gold, it is better than farming coin that you end up spending anyway.

Level grinding oh, I remember people grinding poison elementals in felwood near ancient they were grinding there because of some epic dagger that had a tendency to drop there.

I remember grinding those dinosaurs in the searing gorge I believe it was called where thorium point is they dropped items for reputation and were nice and hidden for leveing.
