What Races Do You Wish You Could Play As?

I am OK with this

The problem with Ogres is which side do you give them to?

No way the Alliance wants anything to do with the ogres. And the orcs in general are not going to be fans of them either. Folks forget that before the Legion showed up on Draenor, the Ogres (who are also natives of that planet) were the ones enslaving the orcs. Not to mention how the Mok’nathal came to exist in the first place (nothing consensual about the birthing of those orc/ogre hybrids).

And the ones on Azeroth haven’t really stop enslaving the other races. Pretty much every quest we’ve had since Vanilla regarding ogres is saving prisoners and slaves from them, on both planets in both timelines. Add in all of the shenanigans with Cho’gal, Cho’war and the other really really nasty nametag wearing ogres, plus the crap we all dealt with from the High Maul empire during WoD.

The small handful you do see associating with the Horde are always hired muscle for Goblins. Also keep in mind those freelance Ogres are the outcasts who were either too dumb or otherwise unwanted by their clans in the first place.

The only way Ogres might work as playable is if it’s members from Ogri’la deciding to venture out into to explore Azeroth from Outlands/Draenor. But even then, their whole thing is enlightenment, so why would they actively get involved in Azerothian politics between the factions.

The Saberon, with only a tiny number of exceptions, are almost as viciously cannibalistic and willing to eat literally anyone as the Gnolls. In a lot of ways, they are worse than the gnolls. Gnolls are just brutish and barely sapient, running on 99.99999% anamalistic instinct. The Saberon, are actually fully intelligent, but still have zero issue actively hunting and eating other humanoids. Because not only do they know exactly what they are doing, but they actually enjoy it.

Quel’dorei.

Blood Trolls!
Amani Trolls!
Drakkari Trolls!

I just want all the trolls even if they are just customization options!

The tree people from the Everbloom

Vrykul are still at the top of my list for Alliance.

Frost Dwarves too, who are already part of The Alliance since Wrath when Muradin; as Yorg Stormheart; brought them into the fold. And we still don’t even have a customization for them.

Murlocs.

They come in different colors shapes and sizes.

A small murloc would be fine for me and I don’t mind a race with at least 2 mog slots helm and back.

Friend, you need to go to Brackenwall Village in Dustwallow Marsh. The Stonemaul have been in the Horde since vanilla.

That’s not a problem and a really odd question.

Ogres were part of the Horde 1.0 and was still part of the Horde 2.0 (just the Stonemaul clan.)

Yeah so are the Forsaken. The Horde isn’t a bunch of pansies, we can handle a few cannibals.

Gnolls, Nagas, Furbolgs, Saberon, Heck after this expansion I would play a Kobold!

Edit: I would also like a Race on the alliance side that I liked that could be a Paladin.

Ogres, always ogre, its baffling we don’t yet

Horde got another crap elf and a dwarf before getting ogres, this is to show wow lost its essence long ago

Tuskarr. They already have totems and mounts.

The Forsaken don’t actively hunt people for sport for the express purposes of skinning, eating them and wearing pieces of them as trophies. Well, except maybe the leatherworkers

Folks forget that the only reason that happened is because Sylvanas literally had a banshee possess their clan leader and get them to swear allegiance. And then Later Rexxar specifically, took control of the clan through trial by combat.

Then after using the Crown of Will to break free of the banshee mind control, a bunch of them left to form the Crushridge, who are very much not allied with the Horde.

Now there are still a chunk of the Stonemaul that are still working with the Horde. But that whole situation isn’t a “normal” alliance or membership to the Horde by any stretch of the imagination from any angle you look at it.

Edit: Though that does give an “in” to having playable Ogres Horde side. Still feels screwed up though. It just doesn’t make any sense as to why they are still even willingly working with the Horde after everything involved with getting them to “aid” in the first place.

My god, I’m hoping we’re talking male gnome and female orge, cause the opposite is an absolutely horrifying mental image that is in need of some serious brain bleach :eyes:

Ankoan or Sethrak would be neat

I’m still waiting for the Gnome/goblin babies from Saffy and Grizzek

You are confusing the clans, the clan did split so the confusion is not something out of the blue, but the stonemaul from kalindor joined the horde after Rexxar became leader

They are still part of the horde from this very day

It is actually, the only thing that differentiate then from taurens by example is that taurens are playable, thus will have more focus by blizzard.

They are a defacto horde organization what you do quest with and help then in the zone.

I doesn’t

Try to explain why would not make sense, horde provides support and protection, plus brotherhood, explain why would they want to give that up and become enemies?

Because that is how its work in wow, you either have an ally or you are an enemy

High Arakkoa (but we need cursed Arakkoa, too).

Also, Tol’vir, Mogu, Jinyu/Ankoan, Kelfin, Saurok, Keepers/Dryads, Ogres, Sethrak, Saberon, Furbolg…Various stuff. I’ve probably forgotten some here.

Dude, my whole schtick is playing the short races whenever possible. Excluding situations where a class is not open to my preferred choices, I typically play gnomes/goblins/vulpera nine out of ten times.

If they came out with some sort of gnome/goblin half breed, I’d likely have an aneurism trying to figure out who’s getting race changed
