I would destroy high elves to finally end the threads demanding that they completely overtake void elves and have everything still unique to blood elves given to them, sethrak to end the Alliance players and sympathizers’ belief that the race belongs to them when it never did (sorry to the few good sethrak supporters, but sacrifices must be made for the greater good), and ankoan just because they’re so forgettable that no one will really miss them.
All the “better” races that Alliance posters have begged Blizzard for had no chance of happening, to begin with. The only other choices that Blizzard had during BfA were crap like night elf worgen, saberon, or sand gnomes, not sethrak, vrykul, or tauren but they’re Alliance for some nebulous reason.
Wasn’t happening, never will happen, especially after Blizzard decided that Lightforged, Highmountain tauren, Dark Irons, and Mag’har qualified as their own races. You lost, get over it.
“Should” is subjective, but “can” is just a falsehood and pure cope. The race already exists, it’s not going anywhere. I’m not going to pretend that I’m a professional 3D modeler, but anyone with two brain cells and basic knowledge of how to use Blender or another modeling program can see that with the way mechagnome models handle gear and have their own animations, trying to make the race share a model with regular gnomes would invariably cause the result to break under the strain and bug out every time it took a step, like early Kul Tirans but worse.
Here’s a thought: if you wanted gnomes to get new customizations so damn bad, you should’ve been pitching them before allied races became a thing. Seeing this community spend the last 3 years fighting a war that they lost before it even began and then cry about how Blizzard didn’t beat gnomes like redheaded stepchildren the way they’ve done to the night elves since Cataclysm is giving me an ulcer.
Good thing Blizzard is proving they no longer listen to players like you cause it keeps driving away more and more players. Bet you unironically hate the cross faction announcement too.
To be fair, and I’m playing one, Dark Iron Dwarves don’t have a real reason to exist. For that matter, neither do Highmountain Tauren, Lightforged Draenei, or Mag’har Orcs. I would not cry if they went away.
They’ve been driving away players with poor storytelling and bloated gameplay, not because little Billy has yet to get the race that his favorite YouTuber told him was coming in BfA or SL. Sorry that I have an understanding of why Blizzard did what they did with allied races instead of believing that square pegs (mechagnomes) fit in round holes (barber options), or that triangular pegs (sethrak) fight in square holes (Alliance allied races).
When I saw the announcement, I actually shrugged and thought “Can’t say I wasn’t expecting that” and “Maybe the crying about the Alliance dying will quiet down now”. Not that crying out in nerd rage about it would do anything, what’s done is done, and people seem to be generally open to it.
Those icky, icky undead! Destroy them all! What’s dead should stay dead - didn’t you see Pet Sematary! What good are the Forsaken? You can’t even eat them because they taste like rotten flesh! Even cooking their giblets in the lava flows of Blackrock Mountain makes no difference! Nope, no undead lava gibs for me…I’m not letting the undead take me!
Anyone remember these 23-year-old Quake2 machinima references? Anyone?..no?..…
