What Race is Alliance getting?

So far the rumors for the next allied races are

Allied Race:
Alliance: Mechno Gnomes
Horde: Gil Goblins

However for the next contender to be an original horde race is Vulpera. I’m guessing there won’t be any scenarios for them. What is the Alliance getting? SethRak, Ankoan or something else entirely?

Alliance: ???
Horde: Vulpera

If we get robo-gnomes and the alliance get a worse version of Goblins, I will laugh for a long time. That’d be a meme on both fronts.

Borg gnomes and Aqua goblins would be the most obvious choice.

All the existing allied races are variants on the existing core races.

The other races people speculate on would only work as a new race, not an allied one.

I don’t think we’re getting Gilgoblins because they’re not exactly a faction. The Unshackled consist of Gilgoblins, Murlocs, Makura, and Sea Giants. There are actually quite a small number of Gilgoblins. Now, I could see Blizzard extending it out to try and push them, but ehhhh…I’m iffy.

Alliance Mechagnomes seem very likely, however.

mechagnomes and … i dont know, for worgen (i think skeleton swap here for worgen as horde saberon) but that means we need a horde skeleton in exchange. maybe an undead skeleton for alliance, from the horde, but what race? undead…what?

Since they’re the only ones horde responds to the most. I’d be delighted if they are the next allied race if the developers goes towards that. I should start posting on my horde more, but I am so used to this avatar.

Horde’s getting Vulpera over Gilgoblins in all likelyhood according to all of the datamining hints

undead are gonna be a rough race to use for an AR. any ideas? i mean that uses the undead skeleton

I don’t think Vulpera going to be an allied race, but more as original. That’s why Gil Goblins has the potential chance to be one.

ultimately, old style new race additions, was much better. the lore was higher quality, they had multiple racial mounts, individualized quest chains, unique starter zones, could be selected from level 1 without a rep grind, and some features of the expac would be exclusively about their race, so that the players really got to know them, even the ones who hadnt selected to play them.

Vulpera would be cool, but they don’t follow the pattern.

Sure they are the same size as goblins, but they are a different species.

Unless they do some terrible lore acrobatics to show that the fox people are actually mutated goblins somehow.

Their OP explains that. They think they’ll happen and be unique, they don’t think Vulpera will be paired with Junkergnomes.

Also, Stompy above is pretty much the case of most that think this way as well. Vulpera just don’t fit the current pattern of ARs. That isn’t to say that they won’t be a future AR though.
