Not at all. I used this character to make the point. BfA introduced 8 new races. I was one of the relative few to take advantage of that. Why would it be any different with new races?
(Void Elves were added in Legion. In Dec 2019, there were about 3x Panderans as Void Elves. For Bfa, Vulpera and Mechagnomes weren’t listed, the other six registered about 0.8% each.)
It makes no sense to have a group of purple blood elves in the alliance, except that Ally needed something and that was the easiest thing to do, not to mention that Blizzard hoped that with this placeco copied from blood elve without any lore, it could stop the alliance from waiting for High Elves that has a lore closer to the alliance.
Purple blood elves are just a patch on a flat shoe for the alliance.
And like junkgnomes and obese humans, it’s the best that blizzard is willing to do for the alliance.
Wouldn’t mind the four Shadowlands races as neutral races. They’d be more popular than pandas for certain, and the whole Chromie time travel thing sorts out any lore issues.
Pandarens are only diluted between the factions.
And that makes it difficult to create more lore and content for a race that is present in both factions.
The only thing I hate about a race being neutral is that it is available to everyone but that is not something that brings any particular faction flavor.
The current state of lack of prestige and prominence of the alliance, is partly, after our relaxed lore, that we have no race that is exclusive and that arouses hype.
Nothing that really brings people into the alliance. Well done Blizz.
Neutral races are good for the game but to keep the factions relevant, it is just the opposite since they serve more to dilute the feeling of choosing a side for what it brings interesting.
Mogu and yaungol in ally? LoL. Nope.
Mogu would be very difficult. Like nagas and satyrs. Pure evil.
Yaungol is easier in the horde because they are cousins of the tauren.
Tauren in alliance? The Horde will hate this.
Shall we give humans to the horde, to balance it?
None of these races has any attribute or value compatible with the alliance.
Of course, purple blood elves don’t have it either, so other breeds would be used as a patch on our old shoe.
Earthens? Another dwarf flavor? Another minimal effort for the alliance?
They are much more like dragonflights. They have no reason to integrate with mortal races and find themselves on battlefields fighting each other in the best pandaren style.
Not to mention that seeing a venthyr and a maldraxx in the alliance would be sick.
As much as seeing a kyrian and a Nigh Fae in the horde and certainly, because they are neutral this would happen, diluting any value that one of these races would bring.
They would only make ally and horde more indistinguishable from each other.
