What older MMOs got right that current WoW doesn't

Yeah this point exactly and also just the fact that difficulty levels mean getting gear in the first place is nigh pointless.

I dont know, it feels weird playing a game where im expected to gain all this gear, and my only reward is a harder version of the same thing ive already been doing 1000+ times. I dont get the interest, nothing is out of reach to gear up for, so why do it when there is no actual progression just arbitrary numbers progression?

Then on top of that why do it when all my efforts will just be invalidated next patch when catchup mechanics arrive?

The answer to both questions is I have absolutely no idea. I dont know. The game has no answer for this. There is no reason to jump on this treadmill and stick around. I mean, I guess this time around there is Torghast. It actually requires gear to see all of it, but thats pretty much it and im not sure Torghast is going to give some super cool payoff. It may just be infinitely doing the same things forever on a difficulty slider. Ehhh…
