What could the hardcore server community do that would motivate you to start or stay on a hardcore server? What services or support could veterans provide you to help you?
I’m not a fan of a few things about it that sort of keep me disinterested.
Not being able to spam run dungeons is a pretty high up one.
Regardless of how representative it may be of the overall community, the posts about “I died to something that isn’t my fault, please revive my character,” turn me off of the playerbase (or my perception of those who play as a result).
I dislike that the characters can transfer to a normal realm upon HC death. That sort of removes the HC aspect from it (for me).
It seems largely like a single player version of the game, where random guild chat is exalted and so is solo play in the world. Two things I don’t particularly like.
Lastly, I doubt anyone shares my opinions about these things, and that’s even another reason that it feels like it is just not my community.

i dislike server down time, bots, and lack of any GM at all.
anyone else interested in what a pvp hardcore experience would be lim,e
I would play hardcore pvp
I’m not entirely certain what you mean by spam run dungeons. The consequence of dungeon runs gone bad is harsh. But I do often see large and small guilds alike in them regularly. Establishing the trust, that anyone being brought into the fold isn’t a Leroy Jenkins, cant take time. But I also see where once a guild or group of people have achieved that, many will not grow the farm team either.
I’m not a fan of the revive me or else grievances. It’s part of the risk, and part of the thrill in my opinion. I don’t know enough of what happens on the transfer to normal after HC death to have a position. But if it includes transferring everything your character has/had with it, I can see how that’s a potential issue for the game economy. If you should up naked, at a graveyard, after resurrecting to a knew server, I wouldn’t oppose that.
A lot of it is a single player version, amplified by solo self found enthusiasts. And chat of any kind can often be toxic, typically not even related to game content. I’m a big fan of keep your reality out of my fantasy. I’d rather hear barrens chat about Manrik’s wife than fanatically charged current events discussions.
I don’t find your opinions unreasonable. Thank you for your feedback.
It just means to repetitively run the same dungeon over and over. You cannot do this on HC realms since there is a daily dungeon lockout for leveling dungeons.
Yeah, I’ve typically run dungeon leveling guilds in Classic (Vanilla) content, with a focus on in-game content and relevant discussion over anything outside of game.
The leveling part of HC hasn’t held my attention long enough to get to end game content in it, which I feel I might actually enjoy if I was able to ever make it there.

I’ve been playing Hardcore pretty much since it launched, and I honestly wouldn’t play anything else now. The thrill and sense of risk just make the game way more fun for me.
Been exclusively HC since well before the official server. (Bloodsail Buc with addon).
one thing that I would love to see more is is grouping. As it stands, it seems there are more people into soling than grouping. Of course I’m talking about open world quests and such.
Ps. Blizz needs to combine or consolidate the three servers. The more the merrier!
I’m waiting for a fresh server. If that happens (would have been awesome if Vagash would have been fresh server), I’ll be resubbing, if it doesn’t, then I’m retired (lol) from WoW.
You can do that now. Go to the arena, or if you want something more controlled then find a mak’gora.
I just like trying it every now and again. My highest-level character was 24 when I died, with anywhere between 14-20 being my average death level. Once I’ve ran it a couple times, I usually decide to take a break and wait until the mood strikes me again.
Btw I am fully aware that I could level off of green mobs or play it super safe. That isn’t how I have fun though. Entering those dangerous caves and doing risky things is kind of where my enjoyment comes from.
I would probably be more inspired if there was a community effort for a lot of people to run it. I am kind of excited to play tbc Hardcore, even if it is with the addon.
While I’m no fan of server downtime, I don’t see that as a hardcore server issue. Bots on the other hand, they come and go in waves. I’ve got my share of emails from Blizzard thanking me for reporting them where it results in bans. Bots often are in those exact places running t heir routes in the same places you want to level, and that bothers me. They’re doing what you want to do. Level in the most efficient place. When I am in contention with bots when I am levelling, I absolutely, without fail, report them. I’ve done it enough to see a pattern. It’s typically about once a month that I get my emails from Blizzard, letting me know how accurate I was. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a GM, only the correspondence back and forth offline.
Lack of difficulty keeps me from playing. After lvling dozens of characters in vanilla at some point there’s really not much challenge. Its the same experience as lvling normally, nothing is new or exciting as I don’t think I died before. It would be cool if they made the mobs hit harder or gave them some new abilities or something.
If that’s your main problem have you tried one of the addon self imposed challenges. Currently a lot of people are doing this challenge where you cannot see your health and the game becomes darker more tunnel visiony when you take damage. I’m not sure what it was called but I’ve seen a couple of people stream it.
I think it would largely be a bunch of people playing rogues, hanging outside towns and cities, waiting for the other people playing rogues, to accidentally de-stealth
STOP asking for revives, rollback, resses etc! IT’s HARDCORE, guys!
This can’t deter me from playing HC, but from reading forums, and interacting with “HC” players.
It was bad enouhgh with the inane addon where pepole did various antics to have their deaths not count.
The only thing that could make me happy would be Blizz doing more for their server structure, and more to inform/warn before shutting down for maintenance … and not opening up HC servers before they were sutre they were working again.
I’ve been playing Hardcore since before the addon was even a remote idea.
I like harcore but its just feels more of a challenge thing and not a main server kinda thing.
I’m okay with some xp loss but I don’t want to lose all my progression when I die.
well. that’s the whole idea behind HC, you die, you start over ![]()
