It’s not just that people want to be carried by their guild. Personally, I haven’t been pugging Heroic to keep my loot eligibility for the guild raid since I’d be able to trade away a weapon token if I got one. There’s multiple reasons to not PUG when you’re in a guild, but I totally understand that feels like less of an issue with personal loot.
To OP: It’s hard to take melee right now, there are a lot of DPS applying for every key and even when I posted a lower key in LFG for a friend, we got 203-205 ilvl melee applicants. You’re next to 20 other DPS, I usually want a 2nd range, and you’re 10 ilvls under the other applicants. It’s tough out there, your only option to progress purely pugging is using your own key or being extremely patient.
I’m not going to pretend like I put up with the same thing. I’m a meta class with lust, it’s incredibly easy for me to get into groups, but advice from the recruiting side: you’d maybe have an easier time if you tanked and boosted your IO/ilvl that way then went back to DPS.
