what if they used talents from 1.10 (and gear from earlier in vanilla as well), pre naxx release.
once naxx is released everything becomes 1.12
this accomplishes a few things

1. pre naxx content isn’t a cakewalk
2. some of that early raid gear isn’t invalidated by gear from outside the raid
3. throttles pures in early content.

I’m not against the idea of an aura in Naxxramas that increases the threat generation of Shield slam, while the rest of the game uses a pre-buffed version. My point was that suggesting an ability to work differently in certain parts of the game is adding a game mechanic that was never in Vanilla WoW. I’m indifferent to raid balancing. If people want to make it a little harder, I say sure, go for it.

I’ll say it again, the no-change mantra is not synonymous with making the best possible Classic, nor is it synonymous with making the most authentic Classic. It’s adhering to a hive mentality that thinks it’s come up with the ultimate solution.

If you really wanted the best version of Classic, you’d be discussing the philosophy of game design that made certain aspects great, then suggesting changes based on that philosophy in order to bring us back to that state while using the patch 1.12 baseline. If you wanted the most authentic version, you’d either be petitioning Blizzard to reconsider doing patch progression, or you’d be adamantly striving for an untouched patch 1.12 release.

at the year point or whatever when naxx launches we get 1.12 talents.
