because they are quite mutually exclusive.
I’m trained, heavily, since childhood, as a classical musician, a composer for the last 40 years (those 40 started AFTER my childhood, by the way). I write concert hall music, symphonies, concertos, trios, quartets, operas, etc…
And it doesn’t pay well. No one wants to pay for it anymore. It’s funny, it’s like “music/arts should be free” seems to make sense to a lot of people, but “the artists who CREATE all that art/music need to survive” doesn’t.
It’s not like you can work seriously on a large work of art in your “off time”. I tried that, it simply doesn’t work.
