I actually have a few that I forgot about till I saw what others were posting.
I’m sure there are more but it’s been so long I really do not remember a lot of what I’ve done in WoW anymore.
This one. Always.
It’s a bit gutted since Cata but its still one of the more interesting questlines WoW has.
It’s never the “main” story that’s most interesting in WoW, that’s constantly a mess.
Suramar and onwards. While I like Legion overall, that was really where it picked up the most, and maintained that level up until the end of the expansion’s story.
Also! The DK starting zone. And the final push against the Lich King. And their order hall quests.
DH’s starting zone too.
Despite my problems with Shadowlands overall, I did still really enjoy the initial storyline in Ardenweald. Maldraxxus was also fun. Revendreth was decent. Outside of those, though, burn that expansion pls.
As someone else mentioned, Runas in Azsuna was just
It’s more of an encounter than a quest but the Warlock mount encounter in Dire Mall is my favorite thing in the game, though I’m not sure it’s still around to do.
Yes! The nightborn quest line was so good
I loved this back in Vanilla. Sent you all over, had an epic demon fight at the end and was the first exposure to demon hunters int he game outside of Warcraft 3 and Illidan.
Kingslayer Orkus
Silverpine forest, the Silvanas story is what made me love her so much… then blizz ruined her… but w/e.
I also like the first Lillian voss questline.
I really enjoyed the Klaxxi from MoP. From the start waking up these ancient Paragons all the way to fighting them in SoO.
Lilian Voss undead origin storyline.
Welcome to the Machine
The Day Deathwing Came
Coming Down the Mountain
I don’t care what anyone says about Cata because it gave us some of the best questlines.
Not only that but is perhaps the biggest orc to ever exist. I’ve noticed that there are 3 rather bigger than average orcs (Blackhand, Garrosh, and the Machinist in a Horde gunship in the Worgen starting zone). I think they’re like the Orcish equivalent of NBA players.
Best wow story lines in the game are the ones that are not over arching expiation ones or even main exp story lines.
Best quest chains in wow, are the Duskwood chain, the old defilas brotherhood quests, the old Black rock mountain quest chain to find the missing Dwarf daughter. Those quests had soul, were very fun, added lots of depth to the world.
Modern main story plots of wow and over arching stories are no better then Marvel story beats.
Hmmm… Well, now that i’ve played through it in classic Wrathgate is up there. The Alliance Endgame stuff for MOP was great questing through it all on a max level for no reason, a fantastic story indeed.
More specifically though the Terokk Quests in Spires of Arak are my most favorite. The Arakkoa are one of my favorite races, and we learned so much about them in WOD!
Crusader Bridenbrad
His greatest reward was skipping Shadowlands.
I like the way you think.
Wow, some ppl here have some good choices
There is one I came across in dragonflight that really got to me for the simple beauty of it.
Under the mesa that has the ruby life pools, theres an Inn that has these two orcs inside of it. They’re a pair of warriors, though one of them is clearly older and more grizzled then the other.
As you walk outside and do somethings you get to see that the older orc is looking back at his life and regretting decisions he has made and struggling to accept the idea that he can be forgiven for what he has done.
Later you come back and find that the old orc has passed away peacefully and wind up helping with his funeral.
Theres no magic. No big fights. No ghosts extolling you to be a hero. Just a simple story about someones last few days and the regrets that he carried up to that point.
