I LOVE Ginger Snaps! Underworld is solid but it’s far from scary. More action than anything. I’m just a huge fan of werewolves.

This is one of the better ones, I love no CGI and good use of music and a decent story unlike the modern day horror movies

Of more recent films, I really like the first The Conjuring. I love that it didn’t overdo it on CG like so many modern films and TV shows do.

In terms of ā€œhorror movies that probably scarred me for life but I still really like,ā€ it’s Jaws. Much younger me expected a shark in every public pool after that.

I liked The Conjuring as well. Did you like Annabelle? I think I preferred The Conjuring over Annabelle, personally.

I am Legend. That one gives you the feeling of hopelessness.

And with the original ending or even the alternat one, there is no way the humans won. The world was way too far gone by that point.

Thats why there is no second one. There is no story to tell. No victors in that one. That small little outpost had zero chance.

When i was a wee lad, Event Horizon messed me up, same with Chucky gave me a fear of dolls i haven’t quite recovered from. The Ritual is my favourite currently

Out of all The Conjuring films, I like TC 1 and 2 the most.

I find the Annabelle doll creepy as hell (and her bit in the first The Conjuring is well done), but the Annabelle movies haven’t done much for me.

(I also thought The Conjuring 3 was kind of crap.)

i kind of wish they did not mess up the leprechaun movies not the reboot but the old ones

You know, I don’t think I have a favorite. There are so many good horror movies out there it would be impossible to decide on just 1.

A few I enjoy: Slither, Cabin in the Woods, Alien, Exorcist, Jaws, The Shining, The Mist, 1408, Gremlins, Nightmare on Elm Street. Brotherhood of the Wolf (I believe this counts as action horror), 30 Days of Night, Audition, Hellraiser, etc etc

Watch the first one again and see him rattle of the statistics about the survival rate.

They made the alternat ending where he survived only too have a sequel, but the producer even stated that the world was too far gone at that point.

The movie Doom. Had they made that one like that games then it would have been a scary movie and not an action movie. A more lore accurate Doom movie would be an excellent horror movie. One guy all alone in the dark vs countless undead and demons. Or if Blizzard made a Diablo movie based off of D1 and made it as dark and sinister as the game was.

But stuff like what we have coming out now? None of it is any good.

No, that’s wrong.

She was struggling to get work because they revoked her 57-year old license, that was still good for some reason.

They tempted her to come back by saying they will reinstate her license.

every Halloween i watch (or at least have on) The Shinning, The Thing, The Frighteners, and Beetlejuice.

You know, they’re pulling this crap with Gladiator too, using an alternate ending few saw to justify a sequel. Like…just let good movies with good endings stand on their own and think of something different. This is why I sometimes hate Hollywood lol

This is true.

It was very well done, and pretty pioneering in a lot of ways. Ridley Scott even said at one point that horror was not about what you saw, but what you thought you saw.
