Normal scooper

Dont really have a favorite. With cats it was always about getting one with a compatible personality. Ive had a few that just didnt like me and really tore the place up. Others have been like a best friend.

I want to love them but cats can be really cruel to small animals.
I mean, theyre great to have around. usually very calm and quiet.
But when my previous cats would get outside they’d find a little frog in the yard and try to torment the thing, batting and clawing at it instead of just eating it or something. I get it that it just instinct for them, but that doesnt make me feel any better about it.
I had to keep the cats inside most of the time because of that.

Maine wont allow that word and American Shorthair

Tabby is a coat pattern, not a breed.

Personally, I really dislike the breeding business because it creates versions of animals with a lot of medical issues. Further, it is so often abusive to the animals. So people end up buying genetically flawed animals from abused breeder mom cats held in horrible conditions :frowning: Same for puppy mills.

I feel so bad for the brachecephalic ones who have so many eye and breathing issues. Smush face is not a good thing to have to live with.

I will take a lovely healthy mix from the shelter, which is what I have 3 of. One short hair dilute tortie w/white, and a pair of long hair grey ones. Just regular old domestic cats.

That’s their natural instinct, since they’re hunters, and isn’t cruel at all.

cats are the meta when it comes to land predators. an 800 pound tiger wouldnt even have to kill me id die from a heart attack first.

I don’t really like cats at all but they like me lol.

The stray ones I took care of were my favorite, they were both Tabbies I believe. One time the one I took care of brought her whole family over with her hubby cat lol. The other one I took care of during Covid was a mediator to other cats and was very brave. He was my favorite, I even bought him meds and toys.
I’ll never forget them and I loved them both so much. Still think about 'em as well.

Right now I have 2 black cats that kinda come by but haven’t been able to get them comfy enough to come over yet and I don’t see them often.

tell that joke to the frog.

It’s lower on the food chain. Humans tend to apply human attributes to animal behaviors.

I love all of them(except for the bald one). I have a thing for black cats though.

Im not going to waste my time on this.
its not cruel to the cat. It is for the frog.

Cats are the worst which is why I now have three and only feel affection towards one. RIP my desire to have a dog.

They say “thank you”!

I did not intentionally get long haired cats. They were tiny kittens at the time. I am not sure I would do that again…they have such fine hair it is like dealing with cotton candy or something. It is really hard to keep rugs and fabrics clean! Also, bum cleaning is also sometimes required. :flushed:

Where I live it is not safe to let cats say outside. Cars, humans, hawks, foxes, coyotes, dogs, etc. We usually keep them inside only. Mine have a screen porch, access to every window in the house, cat tree, tons of toys, and each other to play with. They have lots of things to jump on, boxes to play in, cubbies to snuggle in. I try to make sure they are happy and safe, as well as the wildlife. They very much enjoy watching the birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc.
