For BGB I love Temple a lot. Best battleground for Blitz I say. Epic Battlegrounds I love Alterac Valley and Strand of Ancients. Strand of Ancients why did they remove it
I am going to be honest the games werenât that long. Those games did happen. But it was just a game being back filled all the time. Games that long were pretty rare. Most were probably an hour to 2 hours tops. A lot under and hour too. This is one of the vanilla myths that is largely exaggerated lol.
I remember frequently spending hours in AV back in the early days⊠Iâd log off, go eat, come back later in the night and join back into the SAME AV.
Good times though⊠I miss the nostalgia. The new âClassicâ just doesnât hit like it used toâŠ
If you were getting back into the same AV then that means there was almost no games going on. Unless you just queued for the same one again I guess. It was more frequent games may last an hour or 2 but overall those were long games.

Youâre never stuck flag sitting a node that might never be contested. Having the objective be a thing that people move around the map is fun.
I want more capture the flag maps (with fewer abusable Z axis port locations).
Ashran for epics.
Basically just because melee get the health bonus that makes big fights not a nightmare. It also has a lot of fun side objectives and items that let you feel OP. AA is really neat, though I wish it wasnât absurdly more valuable on some classes.
WSG because its fun and not over engineered. Lotsa pvp happens.
Random BGs : WSG and TP
Small maps, bright and beautiful. Silvershard and Seething are the worst, for me anyway.
Epic BGs (when not fighting a premade) : AV and IOC -
You can peel off and do side missions to help your team and get into small scale pvp fights which I love instead of the big team clash
Blitz : EOS atm, you can play some intelligent strategies to come out on top despite being outgunned
Worst : I love WSG generally, but Flag carrier maps when you have no FOTM carrier but the enemy does makes for some painful games at times
Gilneas, if the teams are evenly matched all three bases are valid, the roads are important between rotations and if the teams arenât even its really easy to triple cap and just get the match over with. One of the few maps where you can pull off strong 2 or 3v1s that turn the match around, when it happens in AB its less eventful purely because its 5 v. 3 bases and AB just feels like a train running around the map staying ahead of the enemy teams advances.
Kotmogu is a fun concept it just sucks the orbs all want to stack in the same spot, like if each orb had a different spot on the map to optimize points it would play out more interesting even with imbalanced teams. Kotmogu would be a great map for like wotlk level class kits/mobility, but adding and designing it the way they did when they did just doesnât really feel right. Demon hunters and monks should be flying through tunnels and making quick turns, not running around an open field teleporting up steps.
Wsg just because i have probably spent at least 1 year of my life on that map. Used to only que it back in the day. Thousands of games spread across 2 accounts.
