What is your "Core Value" for playing WOTLK-Classic?

In a recent interview, Blizzard said that their core value in WOTLK-Classic was The Social Experience.

What is Your core value for playing WOTLK-Classic?

And should alternate Core Values be allowed to exist for the variety of players, playstyles, and personal handicaps or disabilities out there, or should only players in line with Blizzard’s specific Core Value be allowed to subscribe?

Anyone who believes the Classic Dev team has any values or beliefs at all are incredibly and deeply delusional.

The game is losing players daily and more and more people are raidlogging, it hasn’t even been a month yet and the community is falling apart at its seams.

If they had any values at all they would’ve put in RDF and addressed the bot situation but they know they can’t do either so they just give us PR statements hoping that people will stick around.

Nothing less.

This would be by reason I play the game too.

As for “core value”

Its not social experience but the gameplay experience, social experience by itself means nothing if the game isn’t fun to play and I don’t want to whine about RDF too much but without it this experience isn’t as fun for me.

I don’t agree with this. Classic was an absolute BORE to me, but I found a good group of people and we laughed and yucked it up for hours each night. As soon as they stopped playing, I stopped playing.

Let’s face it, in today’s terms, “Classic WoW” isn’t able to stand on itself. It’s the people/community that makes the game.

I think with classic wow specifically, there isn’t much like social interaction? i guess outside of guilds at least in my experience. I also don’t try and talk, just observing groups thru the time I’ve spent playing.

In dungeons unless a convo is sparked about some IRL thing, people won’t talk and just want to finish whatever we’re doing and I don’t blame them, but some groups are social sure. Depends on the group.

This is true for many games but not for me when it comes to WoW, I’ve been pretty much a solo player since original TBC and I never got bored of the game until WOD came out and then got even more bored/tired of it when BFA came out and quit in Shadowland even if two of my friends were still playing it with me.

After quitting retail I came back for Classic, TBCC and now WOTLK classic and I’m having fun solo but would have even more fun if I could queue RDF dungeons while leveling alts none stop in a endless loop which is what I always did in big WOTLK private servers for years now from time to time.

Obviously friends make it more fun in general especially if they are IRL friends, but if the game is garbage, I won’t have fun even with friends, but I can have fun without them if the game is good.

No offense, but I honestly don’t know how you got through TBC solo. I thought that xpac was absolutely awful. But then again, like I said before, Classic bored me to tears until I found the right people.

To have fun really…

I don’t have 1 value I really place at the pinnacle… but if it were 1 thing, it’d be to enjoy myself.

I played both Classic and TBCC with a friend we leveled together from 1-60, and then again in TBCC from 1-70 and then yet again in WOTLK classic where we were four friends from 1-78 until all of them quit during the leveling process (Last one left at 78).

what a hilarious lie, Blizzard can get lost with their lvl 70boost that killed the experience for any new players in eastern kingdoms/kalimdor/outland, server transfers that destroyed the balance, bot are welcomed because they pay subs and real money traders are untouched, and they have no CS for classic!

they only care about player’s pockets! never the player themselves.

In my opinion, their so-called “social experience” is something they learned from Netease, the company who coded Diablo Immortal. My guess for their reason to do this is the financial part.

The games from Netease are the games that you can pay to win. And for those players who do not want to pay, they need to “social” with paid players to catch up with content etc. That is the way Netease makes money - some people pay, and those few people pay a lot (consider hundred thousands).

Blizzard used to do the opposite - many people pay, and they pay a little (mostly just the subscription money). And Blizzard doesn’t want to transform their profit model all of a sudden. So they adopted the “social part” (making game longer and harder) from Netease, which is supposed to make more players stay.

However, apparently they are missing out one factor of the game, fun. People from old school Blizzard created WOW for fun, and for players’ experience. It was so fun that it attracted so many people to play it. Nowadays Blizzard, however, only considers controlling players behaviors, so that their game can survive longer. I guess that is why many people are complaining about this game. Blizzard doesn’t care about user experience anymore.

At last, I would like to give Blizzard the line that they gave to Arthas,
“At long last. no king rules forever”.

Blizzard has no values because if they did then WotLK launch wouldn’t of been complete trash and this game wouldn’t have more bugs than the original. They don’t care about us even one bit.

If Blizz had a core value it is lying to the players. It’s just disappointing they are like this.

Hope at some point that changes but I know asking for a lot.

The core value of wrath was RDF and wow tokens.

Fun.

Escapism.
Relaxation.

It is their property… they do whatever they want with it.

Oh that explains their stellar customer service. It makes me emotional how much blizzard cares about its players.

We saw this in classic and now seeing this in Wotlk. When you apply the last patch of the expansion, it breaks the game. Everything becomes over trivialized. Introducing Northern Adv Package another prof/economy breaking feature. Giving away so many badges further killed heroics. All these little things adds up. Finally this awesome game got consumed in 2 weeks and people are already talking about “raid logging” . The current crop of Dev don’t have the long term vision. Once you dilute sense of accomplishment, game can’t hold onto its audience. Lets face it nobody going to do Naxx with green gear for the sake of challenge. It has to be part of the base game.
