What is wrong with calling the next expansion, TWW?

Guess what the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga will be called? The younger generation use it as a slang term. You guessed it…Mid.

A tumor makes you laugh?

What is it good for?

Fine, we’ll shorten it to TW “Tee’dubya”

TWW is what I’m calling it, don’t really care what others do, just think their go to word is silly looking.

Warthin was the first one I saw folk using and I just like it. TWW is quicker though and seems fine to me.

TBC, Wrath, Cata, MoP, WoD, Leg, BFA, SL, DF…All the expansions had some sort of abbreviated version…I don’t think anyone finds anything wrong with shortening ‘The War Within’ to ‘TWW’ Ironically it’s faster to say the war within since there’s less syllables than TWW

Warthin sounds too much like “Warfarin” (a medicine) to me. I’ll stick with TWW. I’ve never heard anyone call Legion “Leg” either lol. But it’s kind of funny that some do since it was the expansion of legendaries being thrown at us from every angle.

They aren’t, they just like to announce that they have a tumor.

It’s faster to type “TWW” and in my head I read it as “The War Within”. It’s the same with “www” and “world wide web”.

Looks too much like TWA. It would remind everyone of Howard Huges.

Because…as has been explained here and in other threads more than once…those opposed to the use of ‘Warthin’ don’t want to use a term that is already well established in the medical field as a reference to a nasty tumorous growth in saliva glands.

Can we just not? Please?

At this point, we should just call it “WW”. Don’t even need the “T”. Everebody will know what “WW” means since it abbreviates “War Within”. Just like how “BC” abbreviates “The Burning Crusade”.

it’s a person’s family name. Calm down.

Nice attempt at a facetious dodge. It’s still officially recognized as the name of a tumor.

On par with people shortening short names into same syllable nicknames.

Some abbreviations are harder and take longer to type out than using the original.

Gotta try to be the cool kid in class i guess

pls calm down and stop being too emotional and learn to read. It’s a person’s name at worst.

I’m just trying to figure out why we need several threads to discuss this. All it does is feed the trolls even more and annoy others.

Cool kid syndrome**

None of the cool kids are the originators. Just follow the trends

Stop making presumptions about my emotional state. When you assume someone is angry on a text forum, you’re likely projecting…and definitely deflecting.

It’s ironic though, that you would use the fact that the medical term originates from someone’s name as a valid excuse to use it anyway, when in fact, that makes its use even less so.
