What is with monks and tea?

They did until it was deemed offensive.

I miss her every day. The PvE version got removed back in Legion so it’s been gone for longer than we actually had it, but I still miss her.

But they use both and always have. The game makes a clear distinction between “tea” and “brew”. Mistweaver uses tea because tea is associated with zen and focus. Brewmaster uses “brew” (which is obviously alcohol) because drunken boxing–they have a high dodge chance because of their drunken swaying, and they’re so sloshed that they have a delayed reaction to pain. What makes you think it was changed to avoid offense?

What’s the tea Christine

Personally don’t miss Tiger brew. It felt great when you had it but terrible if you didn’t.

rogues and cheese, monks and tea.

i never got any of it heh

What is it with mages and viennoiserie?

Same thing as with Warlocks and their Fel-cookies or Mountain Dew.

Tea is also well-known to be a drink for “patient” people because the whole process takes time to make and steep, etc.

It’s moreso because it’s an Asian thing, where monks generally come from.

It’s magical tea. Even their brews are magical. It plays into the whole immortal drink

Wha? We have our own tea.

Cheese from lockboxes? ?_?

It’s a part of Chinese culture, which has been brought in as inspiration for Pandaren Culture. Tea is a big part of Pandaren Society, so it makes sense that Monks would integrate it into their healing, as it has soothing properties. Even in RL, I often drink tea with honey to sooth a sore throat.

In one of the books, I cannot remember which I believe it was Shadows of the Horde, Chen goes through an entire Tea Ceremony for a female Pandaren he was trying to impress. So we at least know from that that it is a part of their culture

They used to also have a brew. Tigerseye. I miss it

si:7/mathias shaw seemed to be obsessed with cheese. i never really got it, just went with it.

mana tea is complete nonsense. we have a mistweaver monk on our raid team and on one fight i watched his mana go from 60 to 90% in like two seconds. made me absolutely furious. anyway i’m gonna start drinking tea now

Tea is the #1 drink in the world might have something to do with it.

Mr. Shaw and Cheese is explained very well in episode 1, of the “Boondocks”

Yup! I noted it was moved to PvP only!

That scene has lived rent free in my head for nearly 20 years. I ain’t even a white man and I always think of this when I’m eating cheese.
