What is it, and why does it keep happening?

Ok, that is better.

Since I got trust level 3, I’ll be glad to help with the actual image incase others might have other ideas on what could be the cause.

Now, question, is your graphics card drivers up to date.

Are you using DX12 or are you using DX11 (Found in-game settings). Might want to check that out too.

Also within the settings, make sure that the game uses the graphics card, and not any other intergrated graphics cards

The drivers are up to date. I have DX12 and it’s using the correct graphics card. The CPU I have does not have a video card so it can’t possibly use anything besides my GPU. All the settings are on ultra.

Oh, also, try doing a full UI Reset.

This can also help with these sort of issues too. (I should’ve mentioned this earlier, for some reason, link didn’t want to load from Google.)

I hate to tell you, because I know it’s not something most players want to hear…but that definitely looks like a graphics issue on the player side of things.

While Blizzard doesn’t offer Tech Support, you can always try editing your original post and moving it to the Tech Support forum. There are people there that have more experience with troubleshooting these sorts of things and they may even have seen this before.

Did that gpu come brand new with the pc? Used market can get you cards used for mining.

Might also be a program you can run to tweek your video. Look up your gpu should be with the drivers listed.

No, it didn’t come with the PC I bought it from the manufacture website a few days ago.

Look on that site for your card look for a program you can install and run

Unfortunately that is indeed a graphics card issue. Sometimes you are lucky and it is the graphics card software.

If you google “red spots in game graphics card issue” you will find it happens when the graphics card is dying, defective, has driver issues, etc.

I would start with that search - then add in your card model once you have some basic idea what it might be. See if others with your card have any experience or suggestions.

Sometimes rolling back the drivers to a version that worked is the answer, so keep that in mind.

I sadly would agree with Mirasol. This has personally happened to me and is 100% the textbook symptom of a failing GPU.

Definitely get that thing returned ASAP if updating/rollbacking drivers doesn’t work or you don’t find a software solution online. I bet replacing it with a new one will solve your issue.

Used to get purple like that instead of red on an old pc i used to have. GPU was shot.

Do try driver rollbacks first before ruling it out. Even reinstall the drivers too with a custom install instead of express install to remove the drivers to usage of the previous graphics card.

Don’t fully rule it out being broken first. Sometimes, it can be more driver related if anything. Otherwise if none of that has helped, then get in contact with the seller about the graphics card. They also should come with a warrenty as well, so maybe not all is lost.

I’ve already reinstalled the drivers and went back. I installed the drivers that just game out on July 1st. Plus, it’s now in Oblivion Remaster I get a massive orange explosion of colors and in Dragons Dogma I get major red issues and big circles on the screen where lights are.

The power supply was it replaced at any point? Are all the cables from that power supply being used come with it?

Even from the same company they will change how they are wired on the power supply side saw someone get a card destroyed because they used a wire from a old psu and it was sending too much voltage on the wrong wire.
