What is the real reason behind not enabling flight master whistle?

I noticed that too but I thought it was just my frustration.

Uh, no. The first beta testers noticed the lack of a working flight whistle and we were raising the alarm months ago.

My bad. I didn’t pay attention to the beta forum.

All the predictions came true, as usual. The beta forums are like Nostradamus or something.

Because there is a set number of like 7 dailies per zone you can get and they’re all within a 4 minute run of each other.

It always struck me as weird that some people talked about it as a conspiracy. I mean, Blizzard did explicitly use it as a “metric of success” in one of their investor quarterly reports. Well, technically, I think they used “engagement” as the “metric of success,” but then they showed in their presentation that the way they were measuring “engagement” was “daily time spent per player increasing.”

Now, to be fair, Blizzard hasn’t used it in an investor’s report since then, though I think that’s not because they dropped it as a guiding metric internally.

Almost everything about this expansion is made in a way to milk players /played and keep people logged in for an extra few minutes at all cost.

There’s like 6 flight masters per zone. Stop being such a little baby when people were fine with 1 per zone, or even none, for years.

The walls, the mountains, the cul de sacs…the endless hostile mobs placed 5 pixels apart…

Well that last one was a slight exaggeration.

Besides The Maw, what is the farthest place in Shadowlands from any flight master? I bet it’s like 3 minutes at most.

Meanwhile, STV was twice as big as any Shadowlands zone and the only flight master was at the southern tip, and you had no mount.
