What is the rarest mount you own?

All of the old raid and dungeon mounts are 1% drops. Even the ones it took us 275 tries to get, like Invincible (trying to never go in ICC again). So, even though a lot of people mentioned those, they’re not really all that rare.

I have mounts you can’t get anymore, like the spectral gryphon / spectral wind rider, you basically never see those around. I have a swift spectral tiger, and a corrupted hippogryph. I have time lost (acquired way, way before CRZ), and a sea turtle. I have all the holiday mounts except the love rocket. I got a core hound when they were available.

Anyone have a thundering onyx cloud serpent? Now we are talking the rarest of the rare. That one is a 1 in 1000 chance (at two chances max per week, per toon).

I disagree. It shows up on the BMAH. I wouldn’t consider something that can be purchased “rarest of the rare.”

OK, fine. So, according to you, what’s the rarest of the rare?

Also, just in my defense, when that thing is up on the BMAH, it goes for cap. Not many people have cap. And, I rarely see that thing around, ever.

Well enough people have cap that every time it shows up it goes for cap, correct? The same person isn’t capping the BMAH on the same mount.

Anyways, I think the Love Rocket is the rarest of rare.

I said, “you win.” And clearly, you can say anything you want. I have the same right to take it any way I want. But, again, you win. And you’re also probably right, but I have no inclination to go look up what the actual rarest mount is that people have (and not that one recolor that one dude from vanilla has because of a mistake. That one was a fluke.)

I think my rarest mount is the Emerald Drake just because of how many other rare ones are needed to obtain it. Experiment 12-B gave me a complex though… I had 3 of them drop in one week while I was trying to farm for the Blazing Drake. I was about ready to cry when that third one popped up.

Love this mount. I wish they would put more achievements like this in the game.

i got all legion paragon mounts except one kind of elephants

headless horseman, flame talon, Kua fon (bfa horde mount ) , lothien prowler
and some rare mounts

Well, I actually have alot of rare mounts. I pretty much have every raid and dungeon mount up through WoD, exempting only the SoO and Blackrock Foundry mounts.

That said, looking through the top mounts list… my rarest mount (that isn’t one of the newer mounts released) is…

Brewfest Ram
Swift Razzashi Raptor
Leaping Veinseeker
Felsteel Annihilator
and the Darkmoon Dirigible.

Huh. Only one of my raid mounts is really high on the list. And funnily enough, I got the Felsteel Annihilator very recently, like less than two weeks ago.

Any mount that has been removed from the game is rare. As more people quit, and the game gets older, the less you see it.

My character filter doesn’t work on that by the way. It just shows all mounts whether I own them or not.

Turns out I actually did have the inclination, thanks to Pizza up there ^^^^

WoW Rarity, which I guess is as good of a source as any - certainly better than any conjecture we do here, says:

  1. The rarest mount I have is the Swift Brewfest Ram, at 1.5% of the playerbase owning one.

  2. The Big Love Rocket is owned by 1.4% of players.

  3. The Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent is owned by 0.7% of players.

  4. The rarest attainable mount is currently the Bloodthirsty Dreadwing, which 0.0% of players have (less than 4.9 hundredths of a percent.)

  5. The rarest unattainable mount is … actually a list like a mile long. Simply using WoW Rarity on this one won’t work, as there are several pages of unattainable mounts that 0.0% of the player base owns.
