This toon’s name comes from the name of a druid from Terry Brooks’ Shannara series. It’s a popular enough name with the name being taken on every single server when I started playing (Feb '05) including my original server, Cenarion Circle. So…as new server got added to the game, I tried to grab it when the servers went live until I was able to get it on Dark Iron a few months after I started playing. Then…I never played him beyond the first few levels because I was busy on Cenarion Circle (then Thorium Brotherhood when it launched and my guild/friends moved). Nor do I post here on this character, though sometimes I do give out a :blue_heart: to the Walkerbo from Saurfang that does post because I understand the frustration of settling for not the full name (pours a glass out for the dropped ‘h’). I refuse to delete the character—even though I pushing up against 50 characters again—because it was so hard to grab initially. I had to level to 10 to post .

An old D&D supplement called the Shady Dragon Inn.

It had dozens of pre-made NPC characters for DMs to use in their campaigns to spice things up or supplement a party of player characters. One of the dwarf NPCs was “Rollo the Hammer.”

Well, Elegy means a poem or song for the dead … Both my undead toons have this theme. My undead priest is Eulogy (speech made for the dead - usually at a funeral).

And … it means I can make a moving speech or poem after the wipe …

I had to create an elven/elvish sounding and looking name. A lot of people pronounce my character’s name as Air-low-win, but in my head it is actually pronounced A-are-low-win. The little fancy ë with 2 dots serves no other function than to look elven/elvish.

Liianas is a Night-Elf-ish play on words for “Lioness”

And my main is a Monk named Kenshiro in reference to Fist of the North Star

People pronounce my name as Mercy and think it’s in reference to her, but it’s actually pronounced More-see and is a mix of my actual name.

When 8.3 was first put on the PTR I wanted to test out Vulpera, see how they looked/animations and all, and test the latest incarnation of Shaman.

Shaman is a class that had never held my interest, I’d try it every expansion BC on, and it wouldn’t keep my interest and I’d move on to others.

So I figured why not get my latest testing out Shaman again out of the way on this PTR character I was going to test regardless, and it’s a character that wouldn’t stick around anyway.

Long story short, I loved how enhancement shaman played, and it become of my favorites from that PTR test, and when 8.3 went live I made this char with the same name that was randomly generated for them for the PTR since I liked the sound of it.

random name generator :cowboy_hat_face:

The original first 4 letters of my name were P-O-R-N. Which actually is a syllable that often comes up as a suggestion by the random name generator. When I got my free name change, I added an ‘o’.

I heard the same thing that “no hablo espanol” is wrong. IMO that makes it even better. That makes it even more clear that I don’t speak the language if I can’t even get the phrase that I don’t speak Spanish correct. Nice name

I also have my other 2 character’s names which I am proud of: Alaniel and Phystrix.

Alaniel is my Priest - Name consists of 2 parts: Alani, meaning precious or beautiful & the suffix el meaning from God or of God.

Phystrix is my Warlock: I needed a venomous, vehement, and twisting sounding name and came up with Phystrix! Kinda sounds like Physical (Phys) and strix like the ROG strix.

I have 3 names I try to always use

Notallama - many many years ago I was playing Counter Strike and for some reason my name changed when I joined a server to Notallama. I liked it so much I try to use it any chance I get. I may or may not have a back story of being raised by llamas .

Gorasul - many many years ago I bought this PC game and enjoyed it. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone mention it or talk about it so the name is a lot of times available. I believe the full name of game is Gorasul: The Legacy of the Dragon. I got this game back when Comp USA was the best place to browse computer games.

Solidllama - kind of like my first name but combining Metal Gear Solid (Solid Snake) with llama. My brother would then use Liquidllama.

I clicked random and it was perfect. Also clicked random to get my initial look as it happens…

I swear it wasn’t because of the cartoon duck ~

Certainly, as there are no non-toy ducks in WoW, it wouldn’t fit

  1. Yes.
  2. The wheel of time
  3. Just WoW
  4. Not random.
  5. People confuse it for royal blood and have chased me down in game saying something ugly about The Davinci Code
  6. For me, it’s Callandor

I spend quite a bit of time when dreaming up the names and stories of my characters; that’s such a major part of the fun for me. I think about their personalities and what their values and lives are like, and I never settle until I come up with the one that feels…just right.

Charitygrace. I always liked the name ‘Charity’, and since I assumed the name alone would be taken, I decided to give her a middle name to go with it. Charity, a noble trait for a Paladin, and Grace, another beautiful woman’s name, again fitting perfectly with a Paladin of the Holy Light.
