How did you though, a US forum user, get access to my hidden, only accessible via direct link, EU forums post? The question remains unanswered.
Does it matter how one is able to look at threads? All you’re doing is asking for the same concequences that happened on the EU Forums to also happen here on the NA Forums.
No, it does not matter, and nor is it the purpose of the Support forums either.
A response is not guaranteed.
And to also add:
It should be up to you to monitor what you say in the in-game chat. Spamming, not allowed. Profanity, not allowed. Inappropiate comments or toxic comments, also not allowed.
Enough! Absolutely no point throwing accusations around (not just the OP). Leave it to the SFAs to sort out.
Careful what you wish for.
If you’ve accomplished anything here, it’s showing that you don’t really care about the rules. Forumcat has been a consistent poster here on the forums for a very long time.
As a member of the MVP group, I can say with certainty that they’re not an MVP here or in the EU. Full stop.
Discussing moderation or account actions is technically against the rules, though the blue do tend to help remind people why they received account actions for chat. To get a permanent ban, you’d have to be a multiple offender of the rule.
If you’re simply suspended, then here are some simple reminders:
- Don’t use profanity of any kind, masked or otherwise.
- Don’t be toxic.
- Leave real world issues in the real world…religion, hot topics, politics etc.
Those are probably the main 3 that get people into hot water.
The other one I’ll add is spamming channels (or using the wrong channel) in-game.
The fact that you’ve exhausted your appeals means that it’s been looked at enough times to be upheld. Sorry, but that tends to be the end of it.
Nephe with the true wisdom!
This isn’t hard, and the explanation was very clear.
You were essentially advertising your mercenary ‘services’ as a tank - in LFG.
That’s not what that channel is for.
I haven’t looked at your EU thread, but if your behavior here towards others trying to help you is any reflection, I can see why you got a forum action.
I’ve cleaned up this thread, but I could have easily sanctioned you here, myself.
I realize you probably disagree with all of this, but that’s what this was for and how you can avoid it going forward.
Thank you.
But I wasn’t advertising in the LFG channel. No spamming. No whispering/bothering people. I had a listing on the Classic LFG tool meaning no spamming what so ever, indicating that I was a geared tank for hire. And from what I can see in the code of conduct doesn’t label that as against the rules.
That is for people looking to make groups.
Not for advertisements, which is what yours was.
You are offering a ‘service’ for X gold.
Since so many other people throughout the expansion have been using the LFG tool for tanking services continously for months I thought it was in compliance. Also in addition, people looking to make groups might want a geared tank, hence why so many end-game geared tanks like myself list there. But thank you so much for clarification, I really do mean that. I wish I could’ve gotten this through your proper appeal channel instead of all this commotion. I will not list my service in LFG tool in future.
Two wrongs does not make a right. If you see someone else violate the Code of Conduct, report it.
My whole point was I didn’t at all fathom it was a wrongdoing to begin with. People looking for people to do dungeons with take to the LFG tool. Some people looking to do dungeons, especially some start-expansion players with a lot of gold looking to gear alts quickly, will happily spend gold on a tank that does more damage than the rest of the dungeon group combined and can ensure a smooth run. Where does it make sense to find those tanks? In the LFG tool where the lead found rest of the dungeongoers. That was my thinking basically.
To Orlyia:

Just to clarify, because I want to be 100% sure I never break Code of Conduct again, does that mean I can make a LFG tool listing that says: “BiS geared dungeon tank - 50-100g per dungeon” or “BiS geared dungeon tank - all orbs (strat live)/unwanted greens/cloth/pots HR for me” and still be compliant because it doesn’t include the word service? Or do I have to, from now on, list all my tanking with intention of gold-making in services to be in compliance?
Take a look at this topic, which coincides with the ‘service’ you are offering.
I have already taken a look at this, but it was posted after I received my ban. The post encourages people advertising in the trade channel, to move to the services channel. My question to Orlyia ^^ is still unaswered though. Especially since, as I have mentioned on numerous occasions now, I have never at any point misused any global channel.
You originally indicated a suspension. Orlyia reviewed what was available to them and determined the cause of that suspension. Shared that with you, and you STILL fight back.
As far as I can tell, you have been given an appropriate answer to your question, while maybe not satisfying to you, and I get that, it is the answer.
Asking for specifics to what is viewed as an overstep of the code of conduct in order for me to be a 100% sure I don’t overstep them, because I love the game and want to keep playing it, is not “fighting back” in my opinion. So far Orlyia has specified that advertising “services” in the LFG tool is also an overstep, but, and I realize you might not be an anniversary server player, I don’t think you realize how much of a “grey area” this is. Hence my question ^^
LFG finder has never been meant to ‘sell’ anything.
It’s meant for groups to form up, that’s it.
We also consider that a ‘channel’, of communication. Apparently you haven’t, but now you know.
The rules haven’t changed. The recent articles weren’t changes, just clarifications.
