Nah, leeway was for ppl with high ping, low ping vs low ping didn’t notice leeway.

Spell batching worked much differently than what they have implemented.

Simple stuff really.

Any1 who played as much as I did knows what I’m talking about.

  1. The #nochanges zealots acting like gatekeepers and spazzing out all over the place if someone asks a question.

  2. Certain members of the community acting like Don Quixote and creating monsters out of windmills. For the average player the obscure technical stuff like leeway just doesn’t register, but it dominates our forums.

Other than that, nothing. I’m stoked to play, wish the launch was sooner.

The change to WF was a bit disappointing but didn’t ruin it for me.

I mean, I don’t understand what other option they have.
They can’t get a feel for it themselves, they can only watch streamers play it because they’re the only ones left playing it, and the streamers released videos on the absurdity of leeway.

It seems more like a symptom of broadcasting something people can’t take part in.

I personally feel the beta not being under NDA and it being rubbed in people’s faces was a detriment to the hype. Personally, I don’t even feel like playing it anymore. However I do enjoy the discussion.

There is very little communication on these issues people are worried about so they’re going to the only place to voice their concerns.

Considering my rather reasonable list of things I want out of Classic, there’s not much they can do to make me hate it enough to not play it. Most of the stuff that’s complained about boil down to these things:

  • To reduce GM load
  • It’s only temporary
  • It was actually in Vanilla

The only thing that will really hurt my enjoyment is if they don’t fix the actual Hunter and Hunter/Warlock Pet bugs.

Rabid fanboys who think Blizz can do no wrong and somehow still trust them after BFA and Blizzcon 2018 and complain about complainers which without those complainers Classic would have launched with a wonky content release schedule, loot trading in all group content, no spell batching, etc. How anyone can so passionately go to bat for a giant megacorporation over their fellow consumer is beyond me. We were promised the “authentic Vanilla experience, warts and all” and we’re clearly not getting that with layering, loot trading, and right click report with automated squelch on the table and if the rabid fanboys defending those aspects are who I can expect to play with, then I’m not sure I want to bother with Classic.

People in the gaming community in general need to stop normalizing pro-corporate tribalism and blind, unquestioning, uncritical, mindless consumerism and brand loyalty.

I played, I’m in Australia so my latency was around 300+, 200 with a tunnel service, so I guess this mechanic was for me.

If these things ruin Classic for you, you were never really that into vanilla.

Things that ruin Classic for me are things that weren’t in vanilla.

Heh, I actually registered for an 8 week course this fall just because I knew WoW Classic would most likely launch in July/August. My class doesn’t start until October :grinning:

Exactly my point. There is no reason to give everyone max leeway (2.66yrds) at 0ms-150ms… what are you gonna do now mister high ping? Are they going to have to increase your leeway to 5.32 yards?
