Just did another one and everyone ran into the mid. Ignored the flag the entire game. I was the only person who even attempted the objective.
The horde 3/0 us in record time. I was told too “shut up” when I asked for people to come with me and get the flag.
What in the actual mutilated ball sacks is going on in pvp right now? This isn’t the experience I remember having at all.
How are you expecting to carry the flag across mid as a non mobile class if your team doesn’t have mid control?
I shouldn’t be carrying the flag or orb ever.
Edit- This last temple game was lost in 3 mins. Myself and one other person picked up an Orb because everyone else just ran off into the sides to fight.
No one came into the mid. They all died up top and no one attempted to grab an Orb after that. The horde grabbed all 4 and sat in the mid while no one attacked them.
Pvp is fun now. I’m so glad I re-subbed to experience this.
This is… typically how you open Temple. You ignore orbs, clash, kill them, and then get orbs. If you get killed, then… it’s probably a wrap if you can’t regroup.
This plus the ignoring mid fight in CTF to go grab flag (instead of healing the team fight) suggests you probably need to learn just a bit more before you come scrambling to the forums.
For the record: You’re supposed to kill the enemy team first in Temple, and you have to control mid to cross it in CTF. And healers should always go teamfight in CTF.
The BG meta ain’t exactly intuitive.
From what I’m understanding in your post.
In Warsong for example, I should run into the middle of the map and kill things with my team while the other team goes and gets our flag? If my team remains in the middle of the map and continues to do only that I should also sit there with them until we get our Flag capped 0/3? Are you sure this is what I should be doing?
In Temple I should sit up top on the side and kill things with my team? If my team decides to not grab an Orb or when they do they simply run around up top I should stay with them and repeat this process? If the enemy team grabs 3/4 orbs and goes into the middle I should stay with my team up top with no Orbs just trying to kill randoms until they win? Are you sure this what I should be doing?
Also I don’t heal in pvp. You can throw out the entire image of a the team Healer running off solo to do god knows what.

So you’re an SPriest then, assuming you’re posting on main. Fine enough. You still shouldn’t be running flag, you should leave that to someone considerably more mobile than you (or a tank, in the unlikely event you have one). As for Orb, I think SPriest can hold one pretty well.
I’m not saying that the move is to ignore objectives entirely, I’m just saying there’s an order of operations. You can’t hyper-focus on kills or the objective and expect to win.
The first team fight means a lot in randoms and often pretty much decides the whole game. You want to be there unless you’re a class that’s wholly unsuited to fight it (like a rogue doing rogue stuff, or a tank sitting).
This makes a lot more sense and I agree. I always have and always will participate in every team fight unless it is obvious I should be focusing elsewhere for some reason.
What I’m experiencing in a lot of the random BG’s I join is that my team never STOPS the initial encounter. Some may die, and when they respawn they simply run back into the team fight. During this time the Horde team has usually decided they want to win and will attempt objectives. My team however is perfectly content team fighting without a goal. Many of the losses I’ve experienced since playing again happen within 3-4 minutes of starting the BG because my team is just wholly uninterested in any objective at all.
This isn’t how people in BGs functioned before. At the end of the day you can’t win a BG if your team has no interest in completing the objective of the map. Nothing I do can change that. I can team fight or not team fight the entire match and we still will not win.
