As always…
Good is subjective.
A glad is good to someone stuck at 2100,
2100 is good to somebody stuck at 1800…and so on and so forth.

it’s simple
i used to be the only good pvper
then i took a break last month
now im no longer a good pvper
only bad pvpers are left
Depends on distribution. A static number is meaningless in an elo system.
Atm being over 2399 puts you in the top 15 US resto shamans for instance… so… ?
Well, just make sure all you good pvpers come and q for some random/epic BGs now and then.
You can show the rest of of us what it means to be great!
Also, it keeps your beard and hair shiny and looking fantastic!
Why do you keep making these silly posts every couple of weeks for years on end?
Do you have a serious self esteem problem? Or is this a joke?
He’s been crashing out since BFA.
A bit of both. He got 2400 once and tried to ego people. People didn’t appreciate that and some streamer mocked him for trying to ego people at 2400 when he didn’t even have gladiator.
That went to his head and he missed gladiator and crashed out. The same thing happened a season or two later.
Since then he just trolls and is antagonistic towards anyone who has a gladiator title.
Top 0.1% in rated 3s/shuffle are who I’d consider insane, players that consistently achieve Gladiator on their class/spec each season are great, and players that consistently achieve Elite in 3s/shuffle and/or Legend are good.
Main thing that separates these three groups is just consistency in gameplay, IMO. Decision making of insane players is more or less always on point whereas with the other two categories they’re capable of making excellent plays, but they’re nowhere near as consistent. Think of the type of players that make insane montage videos, but fall kind of flat in competitions because they’re not always dialed in.
Hilariously delusional take.
whos the streamer buddy
Thanks for linking to Drustvar. I was beating myself up as I learned this season, and seeing that the distribution falls off fairly sharply between 1800/1900 and beyond brought some sanity to my mind.
Hmm. Maybe? I guess it seems a little binary but that’s just sort of how I look at it in the context of arena. Shuffle and Blitz as well as other modes are their own kind of thing.
Hard to state a particular threshold across all brackets because that just swings so wildly, like just look at blitz this season.
Keep up with the times. Since Moon Guard now hosts half of the game’s playerbase, you need a full trp profile in addition to the old requirements, maybe even skip some of those.
Maybe this is bracket specific, but I will say the toxicity in the RBG community is weighted heavily towards the top. Not saying they all are, but I’ve played with some high end HoTA/H teams and they make the Crusader / Venruki clip seem tame. There is definitely toxicity throughout the ladder though. It seems to really ramp up around Rival and above.
I’ll come out of hiatus long enough to bother saying that in-game toxicity exists everywhere, but on the only forum for a content people here apparently care enough about to want to save, having some of it’s most notable posters spreading ‘if you ain’t glad you’re bad’ propaganda does nothing positive (as entitled to his opinion as he may be).
It’s why I quit posting here, who wants to deal with that nonsense every day?
I’m reminded of my League days where people would claim that unless you were Challenger (top 0,03%) you didn’t even know how to play the game lol
But I do think it’s a matter of perspective, like the common joke answer in league when this question was asked:
“My rank is good, anything above is a sweaty tryhard, anything below is trash”
And I feel there is some truth about that, in the sense that as our skill goes up, the parameters we use to measure whether someone is good or not goes up with us.
I can’t really speak of ranks because I don’t do rated pvp since I suck tho
Oh, BIG true. Rbgs are a cesspool, which is a bummer because I actually REALLY like them. I played them for the first time seriously in dragonflight s1 and I was SHOCKED at how insanely toxic most of the groups were. Not all, but definitely most.
I look at it as if you getting 1800 in anything rated u an average pvper. My maths could be way off though idk. Just trying to make myself feel good
My post above was having fun, though I do like it when the best players get it on in random/epic BGs.
I had a thought this early morning on what makes a good pvper. So why not answer the question?
My answer is this:
I think a good pvper is someone who shows up often, and with a good attitutde.
They try their hardest, mostly hardest, win or lose.
They have fun in the pvp aspect of the video game they play.
This means that 80 year old gramma can be a good pvper if they have those qualities, that player in the wheelchair, the one with the bad eye sight or that have to use special input devices, the super young kid playing on dad’s account. The older dude whose played forever, etc.
All of 'em, why not? If they are in the random/epic BG, pew pewing, trying and Q’in up. why not? If I see 'em often and their attitude is great. If they are in their trying hard, having fun in the video game win or lose. Then, to me, they are good pvpers.
Now, as to the best pvpers, well, I’ve fought some of those and I lose, almost always (but not always always) to 'em. And that is okay. The best of the best is the best and that is fine.
But a good pvper? I think I’d rather q with someone who meets the definition above. And the truth is, they are out there. I do see 'em. They in there swinging and it’s why I keep coming back to fight at their side (or against 'em!).
So there, that’s me answering who I think good pvp players are.
You might like the group I run with then! Non toxic and a really solid leader. We started too late this season to push far, but we did get our MMR up into the 2400-2500 range. Won a lot of big games against some staple teams. We are going to be pushing 2400+ next season. Lmk if you’d be interested!
