What is an old feature of WoW you'd like to see revamped and made evergreen?

I’d love to see them rework Archaeology from the ground-up. Especially with housing coming. I don’t think it needs to be anymore mechanically difficult than it currently is. I definitely didn’t enjoy the Dragonflight minigame version.

Hot take: I also don’t think archaeology actually needed anything done to it. The entire profession only existed to exposit lore onto the player and get them thematic toys, transmog pieces, and mounts and if that’s not your thing you weren’t going to do archaeology anyway so why should it be changed to appeal to you? “It does the same thing every expansion” kinda falls apart when we look at every other profession that largely also does the same thing every expansion, like nobody is complaining herbalism is still fly to herb right click fly to next herb despite it being that exact gameplay loop for 20 years so why does archaeology get hate thrown at it?

The Brawler’s Guild is something that should have been evergreen. New challenges every major patch. New rewards.

I dont think I saw it mentioned.

They kind of brought it back with Lorewalking but the Lorewalker scrolls from MoP that gave lore about the races and the continent was nice and made Pandaria one of the most fleshed out regions of the game. They were going to keep it going with WoD and then didn’t. Worldbuilding and Lore I feel has kind of suffered BFA onwards. Hell, the Vulpera (despite how much I hate them) have like no lore. They just exist and having those lorewalker scrolls scattered around would have been nice.

Based.

Torghast was actually fun. I was totally okay with it being “forced content” because I was genuinely having a blast with it.

I’d make it non-forced, but also a good way of getting endgame gear. My controversial opinion is Torghast > Delves, for solo content.

And this is from someone who hates Shadowlands.

  1. Reforging
  2. Simplified professions again, not this current nonsense.

I remember begging on my paladin for people to help me with the mount quest, tho…

As for my choice, I’d like to see some of the old and forgotten dungeons be used for things like Delves.

Can’t believe I didn’t say this already. Brawler’s Guild is GREAT. Single player boss encounters with unique and interesting mechanics. I play it so much whenever they release a Brawler’s Guild event.

Because when you go to pick a herb, you go to pick a herb. You don’t have to chase after or to triangulate where you are supposed to go (a more apt comparison would be to fishing, because it had an entire “minigame” associated with it even if I much so preferred Archeology between the two of 'em). Furthermore, the reason why folks got into Archeology to begin with is sadly not so much because of the cool tidbits of lore but rather because of this:

You can still use the comic as an accurate representation of how people view it with one exception: since epics have been removed from it, you have to cut off the last three pages.

All they need to do is add cosmetic mods that can be made to the Sandstone Drake (originally an archeology dig find recipe) and I’d be digging.

No. They stated in Shadowlands they wanted to rework it. Then two expansions of nothing and a third one on the way. It would go the way of First Aid if it wasn’t a source for certain mounts, pets and xmogs. And it worked in Legion. But then they half-assed it in BFA then abandoned it outright in Shadowlands. DF didn’t bring it back, it was an attempt at a simile of what it could be and it wasn’t even bad, just poorly planned.

In other words, you agree that they were trying things out to see what works, what could work, and what doesn’t work. So in other words… they are working on figuring out how to rework it.

If all you are going to do is say “No” and then prove why and what you are saying is a bunch of nonsense, don’t spend three days waiting to say it. Just say it, and move on.

Not really. This was like testing out if a ham sandwich is good by feeding a piece of salami to your goldfish. After eating the ham sandwich. The content was good but it wasn’t properly advertised, it was released at an odd time in the expansion cycle, the progression wasn’t clear and it was basically a weekly quest. If it had come out with the expansion and had been tied to the actual archaeology skill, it likely would have attracted a lot more attention. Hell, when I did it, there were a lot of people participating. I was expecting a repeat this expansion to be quite honest.

I do have nostalgia for class trainers and class quests that we had back in the early days of the game. Those were a lot of fun and I wouldn’t mind seeing those return. I remember having to earn all of my demons through quest chains, earning the dreadsteed, and earning green fire. Those are great memories.

I wouldn’t like to see reforging return. At best, it would make a terrible piece of gear into a less terrible piece of gear or a sidegrade into a small upgrade. Reforging was mostly relevant when hit and expertise were stats that we had to work around and how they scaled. Hit would be the absolute best stat you could have until it tanked to zero value as a caster and reforging helped us counter that. But since those stats are gone, I don’t really see a need for it now.

Interactive weather systems, what a shame. Can we have snow back, esp on classic?

I haven’t messed around with it in a while but I completed early seasons of it and it was fun. A few friends and I would be in voice chat and laugh when one of the others would die and it was a great time.

Remember the mount trinkets? I wanna see that make a comeback but also get improved. A lot. I wanna see ground mounts get the dragon-flying treatment. Steal from GW2 if you must. Different types of mounts with specific abilities. Like horses having certain abilities, raptors having others and so on. Also customizable ground mounts, like the Dragons in DF.

Bro which part is true

If given total liberty Id bring back tank vengeance even if nerfed a bit. Enough that tanks can compete with dps but not enough to beat them at the same skill/ilvl. Would also help them scale defensively and give them a reward basicly if they dont kite.

Realisticly either or both personal loot and the bonus roll system. With personal loot dropping more loot but not tradeable. It would be my nerf to it so people dont do stacked run again.

Please bring back the old way of professions…I’m playing wow classic I and I really miss it …
