What ilevel should be able to solo a layer 3 Torg?

I can’t even get to the last boss on a layer 3 solo as an Arcane Mage… Is ilevel 162 just too low to expect to be able to do it? I don’t want to go frost but I might have to I guess…

I swear it scales with ilvl, but i may be wrong and the difference is just the wings

I solo’d the left one on my Hunter - I have no chance on the right one layer 3. It is not even close.

If it scales with item level then I have no chance of ever completing layer 3…

That’s the one I tried to solo, Mort’regar… Prob my first mistake I guess.

I did my first layer 3 week one with 154ish ilev. I also find most people don’t even pick defensive powers and only go for dps increases. Could be your problem right there not picking the defensives.

Not at all… I honestly pick mostly defenses.

someone has mentioned it before get smoke bombs if they show up, they’re a godsend.

I haven’t paid attention to health or anything so I’m not sure either. I want to say no though, torghast is already set up to scale based on layer it should not be double dipping in that regard. Whole purpose of it back in legion was to keep world content dangerous for longer while still eventually becoming a pushover.

Edit: I have solod everything so far myself with little issue. Failed the a boss with a friend last night, but just barely and some of it was actually my own fault. Totally could have done if we had played better.

If you can’t get to the last boss then. try taking it slow and use CC’s slows and what not. your not on a time limit. (at least in game). If Last boss is the problem well I know some classes have a hard time with them due to lack of interrupts or just HP pools. As a DK I have magic absorb 2 stuns and a slow so I can kit when needed and interrupt a lot shorter CD then a casters like an Arc mage. So it is a bit easier for us.
Also Mort’regar is a lot more difficult then the other one this week.

Lower is sadly near impossible for me but upper was dumb easy

That really varies from spec to spec. Tanks can do that naked

I do them as disc because it’s a cakewalk that way, but i was able to solo layer 3 at 155.

Ilvl 150 as dps, but I think I got lucky with anima powers it makes such a difference.

I’ve found Mort’regar to be substantially harder than the other wings, on both my arcane mage and my havoc DH.

I’ve soloed both sides but I’m not gonna pretend some of wasn’t really tough.

I agree left side was better and when I started the level 3 on the right I nearly died immediately and thought I was toast. So I slowed down and took my time and used a lot of CC and a mix of defensive and offensive anima traits.

The last boss was brutal and I had to feign twice to reset. I found a guide that said to distance to the adds rather than kill them and that helped. I essentially ended up slow kiting the boss.

I have mend pet as part of my rotation and got lucky with reducing the exhilaration cool down and my pet still died twice. And healing pots.

I was thrilled to finish it but I can see how some people struggle, especially if you get bad choices.

And the stupid thing that kept stalking me…we are no longer on speaking terms.

My recommendation for level 3 is 171. As a mage, higher doesn’t hurt.

I am on layer 2, most here that say they are ilvl 150s on layer 3 are hybrids with self heals. I do use a heal potion and it helps, but the CD is to long for a second potion, If I had one more heal I think I could soloed the elites I fought so far.
