What we see in Game is him admitting to being romantically interested in Taelia. Nothing indicating anything such for Shaw in all the content we are shown.
Then you probably can’t read, All i have said that I don’t care for them changing characters sexuality to suit fan pairings, You know making headcannon real.
I’m all for them introducing new characters to the story who are explicitly gay, bi or trans where it makes sense. The Nightwarrior couple in shadowlands is a good example.
To someone you’re not attracted to, it’s banter.
To someone you are attracted to, it’s flirting.
The scene was left open to being either/or.
We see him expressing an interest in one person and at one point in the story.
This doesn’t mean he’s NOT/WOULDN’T BE interested in someone ELSE.
Especially considering he see him chronologically saying this before meeting Shaw.
At which point we see him flirting with Shaw and NOT showing his previous infatuation with Talia Post that.
The Fact is, sometimes it takes meeting someone new to get over your Infatuation/Breakup/Heartbreak.
That would be fine if they indicated anything such in the book or even in the game but they don’t.
I’ve already explained this in my post, but my main issue is that they change characters motivations all the time in wow with no explanation. Now they start changing characters sexual preference with no explanation. It isn’t so much that flynn is bi sexual but more that the story doesn’t really explain that change very well based on what we already knew about him. Its just bad story writing.
Its why I’d prefer they create new characters if they want to represent a gay or Bi couple. Because they can’t do romances well otherwise and spending too much time on it detracts too much from the rest of the story.
He was bi according to his writer on twitter. He had a crush on Taelia according to that quest in the pirate town, but there was never any indication she felt the same way about him, so saying she “dumped” him is just wrong. He’s since gotten together with Shaw.
For the record I definitely shipped Flynn and Taelia - I adored their interactions throughout leveling - but there was still never any sign she reciprocated his feelings.
But they didn’t actually “change” anything of the sort. Because they didn’t expressly sstate that he WASN’T bi or wasn’t attracted to men. All they said was he was attracted to this ONE woman (and implied a relationship with another) but nothing Was ever said about his overall preferences.
Adding in a new fact doesn’t change or override old facts. It changes your image of the character, but frankly, that’s entirely on you, not them.
Perhaps Blizzard should have important NPCs wear nametags form now on that say, “Hello, my name is [insert name], and my preference in romantic partners is [insert preference]”. That would clear up these problems in the future.
I don’t mind having gay characters in the lore at all I think it’s only natural however I am curious to see if there are any religious prejudices against it in the wow lore like Will the light of void for example condemn it or is it seen as natural to them or just could care less.
I can’t read because your uncomfortable that Flynn is bi-sexual…that makes a whole lot of sense. But I get stupid comments like this from alliance posters a lot, so it’s not suprising you had to resort to that. His character wasn’t changed, not my fault you don’t understand that.
Blizzard confirmed homophobia doesn’t exist in canon. There aren’t any sexuality based prejudices present in any WoW religion, nor would it really make sense for there to be.
