What if only Healers could heal

What do you guys think the game would be like if dps and tanks had no healing spells - only healers can heal.

How would that look like PVP or PVE?

(Still keep potions, food, etc)

Terrible? Play enough battlegrounds and you’ll see how reliant everyone is on healers as it is. Healer disparity (quantity and quality) is too reliable a predictor in the outcome of the match.

We don’t need more of that, we need less.

This would put way too much pressure on healers and reduce the skill ceiling in PvP and PvE.

The problem is classes like Ret, Shamans and Moonkins can heal far too much while classes like Rogue, Hunter and DKs have weak healing.

Not every class needs to have strong heals if they’re able to mitigate damage in other ways like Cloak of Shadows, Feint and Evasion but Ret/Moonkins/Shamans shouldn’t be able to top themselves off in seconds then continue to do massive damage.

This would also mean that if your healer dies it’s game over the majority of the time in PvP and M+, PvE content would be an absolute nightmare early on in expansions and for alts, imagine Torghast if you couldn’t heal. They would have to completely redesign how players take damage to do this change that would ultimately be a negative one anyway.

Sure, as long as healers cant do damage or crowd control.

I wouldn’t mind. But, I can’t see it happening. It would basically require Blizzard to rebalance the entire game. From solo content to endgame raiding. All damage from NPCs and defensives would need to be readjusted. Likewise in PVP, damage would need to be rebalanced across the board. Or health pools. Probably both.
