I suspect that it’s going to be a bit like BC with areas you could only reach via flight. In that there are places you can only reach when your dragon level/kill reaches a certain point. And that skill/level is tied to a time gating system (ie, renown).
I don’t know this for sure of course but they sort of implied it so I dunno. The idea is there though and it’s kind of off putting. Instead of the smaller areas only reachable via flying like BC there will be large chunks completely cut off until you hit a certain number.
Huh…actually that would be flipping awesome if you could turn WM on and if youre on your normal mount other players on their dragon mounts could strafe by you and yeah…maybe knock you off.
I love world PvP…well…did…until I realized camp ganking is a thing. lol.
I get your optimism on it. I really do. but Ive come to understand Ions personality and method a bit too much in reading interviews with the man.
He should go back to designing raids. He was good at that. He is seriously out of touch with the player base at large as far as the general direction of the game as a whole goes. systems upon systems…mindnumbing repetitious daily crap that even bores my boredom to death. Very few questlines. Removing and demeaning RPG content, things as trivial as First Aid that added flavor to the game.
Im sorry. I just cant give him benefit of doubt anymore.
You heard it here first…IF DF stays the same and hes allowed to keep our flying mount collection grounded he IS going to escalate again in the next expansion, assuming he’s still at the job.
its just his nature to not relent and keep pushing the envelope unless those sub numbers nose dive.
I just know, one of the first things people are gonna want to do on their new dragon is fly around the rest of the world. So if they do tie it to leveling up your dragon first, it better be reasonably quick. Otherwise it is a very huge waste of potential.
Well, for me I found it promising based on the format of the expansion reveal. I wonder why they had Ion sitting and answering questions to classic team devs? Considering all of the other changes and reforms to the game, maybe the more traditional classic devs won out in the development politics. Seems like the wow team had their a$$es chewed out by shareholders and this is their attempt at really fixing the game. Old talent trees back, professions as a core focus, traditional wow lore based story, etc…
Could be just hopium, but I think this reveal showed a lot of promise and a real effort to change things.
thats the reason why Im still here friend…hope.
hope he’ll finally get it…or finally step down and let someone else who does get it make the game better instead of finding new and inventive ways to annoy me lol
