What have they accomplished?

After 10.0 what’s the next excuse?

None of these are things that the CC can have any influence on.

The work slowdown is due to employment issues that have left Blizzard paralyzed.

And given the development cycle, it is already too late to change anything fundamental about 10.0.

Would they want to? There was plenty of advance warning about everything that actually turned out to be a major proble with SL, but they insisted they wanted to stick with it and “try to make it work”. Actually it was already too late to change by the time Ion said that.

It not an excuse. They haven’t even filled the entire Council yet.

I’m sorry you’re incapable of understanding when content is created and that Council isn’t even finished being set up yet.

Zero input was ever going to be used for 9.2. Because they had already made 9.2.

As I said: ask this question in 10.0. That’s not an excuse. It’s literally telling y’all to come back an ask why no one listened to Council.

Uhh nothing.

It’s just a front so Blizzard can point at it and say they’ve improved communication.

This is American two-faced practises hard at work.

Blizzard used to live by, “It’s ready when it’s ready.”

After how poorly Shadowlands has done, maaaybe it’s time to reconsider that, “Oh, we can’t change anything past balancing issues!”

Balance? You people allow OP spec’s and wild swings without tuning this game as tightly as it should be every single patch!

How is it hard to realize that nothing coded is set in stone!? By its very nature game code can be altered!

They even made text and story changes to the quest line series from Mists of Pandiaria, “A Little Patience!”

Blizzard somehow turned a 10,000+ year old war veteran into an idiot because so many players couldn’t handle Varian facing a Hero’s Journey to earn the rank of High King!

I think they may have had some idea that a handpicked group of players of the sort they respect (ie elites, streamers, theorycrafters) would be able to tell them why so many players have quit.

But they can’t. The only way to find that out is to ask the people who left. Which would be like admitting they made mistakes.

It’s on Blizz to implement changes.
Many have been suggested.

Had to accept that thru two marriages, lol.

Blizzard? Make a mistake?

NEVER.

is it just me or does this just sound pretentious? lol.

No.

Rather than choose to listen, Blizzard chose to form a, “Community Council,” their term, so instead of having to ignore the entirety of the playerbase left, NOW, they only have to ignore 100!

I think you have too of high expectations for the community council. It was not made to fix, create, or improve anything for the game. It was made as a way for a select few people to present ideas, complaints, or questions to the devs on behalf of their respective communities and have a dialog with them. As of now it has failed to live up to that. Not that the members of the CC are at fault but because the devs, Blizzard has not lived up to their end. There is no dialog between the CC and devs, the forum is just a cleaner GenD.

Honestly nothing we already have two new controversial CC members who I won’t name.

If anything it shows that the Classic dev team is super cool. They at least give us some insight or revelation they discuss these issues. The retail one is maintaining their distance and stoic silence.

I don’t blame anyone who is on the council, but I don’t see how it is going to make anything better for me. I’m a casual player who loves the lore and story. Shadowlands really destroyed the lore for me. I wish that could have been communicated in the council.

I’m ready for the council to be shutdown. Then I won’t be disappointed by nothing happening from it.

The council has just talked about the same things the regular forums have talked about to death. It’s just a convenient tool that allows Blizzard to ignore player feedback while looking like they’re taking action to do the opposite.

Even if that weren’t the case, the design of the Council is awful and is helpful to nobody. It’s too barebones, it’s too Blizz-centric (what’s the point of council members that the people who ignore us all the time get to cherry pick?), there’s no system in place for feedback from regular people to get to CC members as a middleman. It’s just this weird psuedo-status thing for those who make it in.

I really appreciate the WoW community council. They made a great list on collecting and battle pets that has started a huge conversation about fomo and the love rocket droprates.

Also they made a post yesterday about the trial of style which was a good read

Those are super important topics to the majority of players in WOW
