What are everyone’s hopes for post tbc anniversary? I understand classic + is a very hot topic at the moment however in my guild atm everyone I talk to seems to be treating tbc anniversary as a waiting room for wotlk.
I’m also eagar to boost more toons and have them ready at level 70 however reluctant to spend the money before I know for sure my toons will progress to northrend, and wont just be transferred back to classic era or worse, retail. I think some comms on this soon instead of waiting until blizzcon would be appreciated by many people who are in the same boat as me.
I personally hope a wotlk launch is on the horizon. I enjoy classic but get bored quickly with how slow paced and simple the classes feel. Perhaps era servers of the OG trilogy would be a way to appease all audiences and we can bounce between those and a future classic + server between new updates?
Would love to hear everyone elses thoughts though, is there genuine interest for wotlk a 3rd time over? Would you stick with a TBC era server instead? Lets hear your thoughts!
That’s fair - tbh if they announce that wotlk anniversary isn’t happening I’ll probably quit too, I’m only really playing tbc in hopes we’ll move through to wotlk anyway.
its going to sit on the sunwell patch for a year then in 28 go to wrath it makes zero sense to release an anniversary edition a year early classic plus gets 27
i’m not so sure, alot leaks showing “classic infinite” with the dark portal collapsed and something also with kara tower. Hence why they didn’t show anything after TBC on the road map. Speculations TBC may move into “Classic Infinite” i’m not 100% certain but thats what the leaks are pointing to
Yeah I’ve been keeping up with the leaks here and there, some look promising, others seem like more of a pipedream. I really don’t think it will affect classic+ population that much if they release wotlk anniversary even 6 months after the c+ launch. I think most people wanting c+ arent that interested in wotlk as it is a very different experience, so having both will retain the most amount of subs imo. But what do I know. shrug
i like the idea of a “X” year rotation of classic to tbc to wotlk, and reset.. but have increased loot drops from level 1 and up, due to an increased pace. Or other modifiers. Dual spec, loot drops, post nerf etc.
What I’d like to see? I don’t know. I think I’ve sort of lost hope for the direction of WoW versus what I enjoy(ed) about Classic. Mostly, because none of the changes they’ve made are inline with what I personally enjoy about the old versions of the game, and are directly leading to cultural cultivation of community traits that I don’t personally find enjoyable.
we’ll see what gets announced at Blizzcon. I am fine with either a WOTLK Anniversary or Classic+ immediately after TBC. The timelines for MOP and TBC seem about perfect for lining up Classic+ in Jan 2027, consolidate more of the classic community into it. But I also wouldn’t doubt due to the popularity of WOTLK, that they would have WOTLK Anniversary for 2027 and look for Classic+ being released in early 2028 after a decent beta test period.
i dunno… i didnt like cata classic, didn’t touch MOP classic. so my only interest is vanilla/tbc/wotlk. i quit wotlk last time cause they stuffed around with Heroic + and made afew changes i didn’t like.
They are mucking around with TBC, adding all these changes, all it would take is for them to nerf wotlk and i’d probably walk away and never look back.
i havent touched retail since BFA
There is no wotlk server that blizzard offers atm, me and my friends are forced to play private servers to get that experience - I would rather play an official blizzard server, though, if they actually had one.
Seems like two different demographics to me, though, so why not do both? I personally find classic / tbc too slow - mists is good fun but is also coming to an end soon, continuing to wrath anniversary / era makes the most sense especially since its basically printing money for nothing. Maybe I’m just being hopeful though.
