What happened to Wrathion

No he didn’t. That was an illusion more or less. The Wrathion we fought was fake. He helped us kill N’zoth actually and opened up the Carapace for us.

Anyways, Wrathion is part of the legacy of the black dragonflight and his main story is probably done more or less. He also does a very good job of showing up when he wants, and completely avoiding people when he wants as well, and he has way more followers than we’re aware of.

Tl;dr No idea and speculation, while fun, is probably pointless until we get more hints if we ever do.

Wrathion always seemed 110% focused on fighting Old Gods/the Void. Even though we beat them on Azeroth doesn’t mean they aren’t still a general threat. So, he’s is probably in some dusty library reading ancient tomes until Blizzard taps him on the shoulder.

A fake?! Inconceivable! I saw him drop. Thanks for the info and Lyriica too.

edit: Now that I think about it, I thought for sure there were patch notes from Blizzard that said he had lost his mind, that’s why he was a raid boss. Blizzard lied to US? Unless I’m remembering wrong which is quite possible.

He was all about the Legion for a while there, though he was conspicuously absent when the invasion actually came around. Probably because he knew it was his fault.

As part of the peace agreement, Anduin handed him over to the Dragonmaw. :smiling_imp:

And the Winter Queen seems less than pleased at having to deal with her “sister”'s loose end. Maybe beings empowered by the Titans, like dragons or Keepers, are supposed to return to the Titans when they die?

Wrathion: I have an idea!
Khadgar: I’m not doing time travel again.
Wrathion: …I don’t have an idea.

Hmm, perhaps. My off-the-wall theory is that the dragons actually have their own Covenant/realm in the Shadowlands… THE DRAGON ISLES. It’d certainly explain why Wrathion was having so much trouble finding them if they don’t actually physically exist.

Remind me of an old show, Blackadder.

To be fair, I think Wrathion does genuinely view Anduin as a friend, and Anduin when younger was his friend as well. But the whole WoD debacle and indirectly getting his father killed justifiably cooled that friendship. However…the weirdos who want that fractured friendship to be romantic because A) Some people have an inexplicable inability to see a compassionate, peace-seeking male character (especially if they happen to be young and attractive) as straight because apparently empathy and a lack of blind bloodlust isn’t masculine in their view and/or B) Both characters have attractive models and/or voices and a subset of players find the idea of them together ‘hot’.

I hope they marry Anduin off to Taelia and Wrathion finds himself a nice dragon on the Dragon Isles so the 'shippers will go back to their fanfictions >_>

Could find him in Torghast, then you’d get both your wishes!

Azhara was just a pawn of N’Zoth.

Uh… oh ya…

He’s at a camp getting the help its obvious he has always needed.

I sincerely hope that Anduin gets freed of the Jailor’s control by a kiss from Wrathion.

I would enjoy that immensely.

Blizzard writing happened to him.

Someone doesn’t play Ardenweald, do they?

I believe he is out searching for the Dragon Isles, but I can’t recall where I read that from…

He will return I am sure with a cloak and the power of true loves first kiss to break the spell Anduin is under
