I have been playing WoW and Everquest since inception. People are still the same, if you expect a random stranger to show you some kindness by spending his time helping you do stuff, your wrong. Imagine if you stopped to help every dude who messaged you or stopped you for something. I would never get a single thing done in the game, most of us join a guild and give/receive help that way. Those same people have probably been screwed by some stranger in the past 20 years of playing, changing how they precieve people in game.

That is not toxic. Someone not devoting their game time to helping you with your problems is not toxic.

Nope. You are not entitled to someone else’s game time. You are not entitled to take away someone’s agency. That’s not how things work. Those are real people behind those characters. They are not NPCs that exist only to serve you and your needs.

classic community is still there, you just wont find them on the forums or in trade chat.
Time = money,and as much as helping people is nice it’s nice to get a pay out for helping if you can’t afford like 5g for a healer to come carry you or some crazy geared player then you can wait to make a group of people who all need it tbh
What server are you on ? I play on Crusader Strike -Alliance, and whenever I seek helps from players in the same zone, I always get positive response for every 3-5 whispers.
There were some even assistances that took them a half of hour.
My advice is not to ask on LFG channels, that channel is for Looking For Groups. Ask in general chat or whisper directly to players in the same zone with you.
Selling summons is someone’s main gold income source. I don’t do or buy it, but I don’t care if someone do, you shouldn’t care neither.
I’m a big advocate of Classic Era WoW - and I can say with extreme confidence: that community is 100% dead/gone under some deluded notion of “muh parses”.
Guilds spending 20k+ a raid in Naxx raid consumes just to clear the zone 10 minutes faster is insane.
Buddy’s guild demands every melee flasks for Naxx trash because their healers parse grey and they’re scared of losing healers after gearing them. So every melee has to grind 800g+ in materials a week just to clear twenty year old farm content 15 minutes faster than they would without it. When people challenge it, one of their officers goes berserk about how “people are trying to parse”. What? Why are people spending 5+ hours a week to save 10 minutes? How do adults not look at this and just remove the problematic attitude person and enjoy the game? It baffles me. I would remove the person pushing for that crap so fast.
The “muh parse” culture has infiltrated every last corner of WoW. There is no community anymore - there’s only parse kids and adults tired of dealing with them.

Literally just invite a random name (doesnt even have to be a real person) and you will automatically be grouped and you just leave your fake “party”

Like i said you are toxic same goes for the orc, joining someones group to allow them to instance herth costs you no time or effort and honestly im just going to ignore you both now as you are the kind of people who ruin games and communities

Toxic behavior
Most are now are so focused on gear and parsing that if you aren’t the phase meta, you are screwed. My Rogue hasn’t even been to Gnomer yet. Tried to two weekends in a row spamming lfg trying to get a group, 26 hrs in total,No dice. I gave up. I guess I’ll try and get into it in phase 3 when no one cares anymore.
Just watched Xaryu take a full group of grey and green parsing people, with fresh lvl 40 gear, and clear gnomer with zero wipes, no consumes.
Yet if you don’t have 6 of 6 and consumes, logs, and be the current meta class, you won’t get into a gnomer. It makes no sense.

Time is money friend.
I have played 25+, not sure if it was high enough, but from my pov, high keys are way less toxic than low keys. lol
The classic community is playing Era.
